Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park - Begin your day with an early breakfast at your hotel or residence. Your tour guide/driver will pick you up and provide a brief overview of the safari. You’ll then drive to the Western part of Uganda, heading to Kibale National Park. Stop in Fort Portal for lunch and visit the tea plantations or Toro crater lakes. Continue to the park and check in at your chosen lodge. You may opt for an evening nature walk in the forest to see various wildlife species. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for chimp trekking the following day.
Chimp Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary - After breakfast, your driver will take you to the park information center for a briefing on chimp trekking. You’ll then set out to find chimpanzees in the forest, an unforgettable experience that can take 2 to 6 hours depending on their location. Along the way, you’ll also see different birds, monkeys like the black and white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, and golden monkeys, as well as various tree species.
After spending time with the chimpanzees, return to the lodge for lunch. Your guide/driver will then take you to Bigodi Wetland for a swamp walk, where you’ll see more primates like red-tailed monkeys, baboons, bush pigs, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and otters, as well as bird species like the great blue turaco.
Back to Kampala
Kampala - Enjoy breakfast at the lodge as you conclude this amazing 3-day safari. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala with a packed lunch from the lodge. You’ll arrive in Kampala in the evening.
