The best times for wildlife viewing are in the mornings and late afternoons. Visitors can encounter four of the Big Five: Elephants, Lions, Leopards, and Buffalo, along with herds of kobs, bushbucks, Giraffes, Hartebeests, and more before the afternoon heat sets in.

A boat cruise along the Victoria Nile is a must-do experience. This 3-hour round-trip boat safari takes you to the base of the falls, with several stops to observe wildlife such as Nile crocodiles, schools of hippos, elephants drinking, waterbucks, and water birds. The boat trip departs from the Paraa Jetty and has been a tradition since the Queen Mother embarked on the inaugural voyage in 1959.
