Wonderful scenery - The road to get to the Park is rough. However, the driver knows his way around. It can be very hot on those roads (there is basically no tree for shade). Be sure to take sunscreen, a hat and a lot of water with you. With this trip, you will be able to see one of the unique Mongolian secrets, which are the last remaining wild horses in the world. I would do it again.

Beautiful Scenery - Bat was a great guide. He helped us see the horses up pretty close. Gave excellent information about Mongolia and the park. Food at Mongol family site was great as was meeting "grandma" the matron of the camp.

My friend and I decided, at short... -
My friend and I decided, at short notice, to take a day trip to the Hustai National Park to try and see the Przewalski horses.
We suggested a pick up point in UB and were impressed with the punctuality and efficiency of our Guide Baat. We headed west out of UB towards Hustai and picked up a picnic lunch during a petrol stop. During the drive our guide, who spoke excellent English, was a constant source of information on the various buildings and districts which we went through. We stopped at an Ovoo and Shaman statue on the side of the road and left an offering of peeled and segmented tangerine. When we arrived at Hustai we watched a short film introduction the park and its wildlife. Baat warned us that seeing the horses was a chancy business. After about 30 minutes driving He spotted a group high up on the face of the mountain but they were so far away that we couldn't be sure. We stopped for lunch and while we were eating he spotted another group. This time we could see them clearly and got some photos with our long lenses. As we drove back Baat was constantly watching the sides of the valley and found us a much closer group at maybe 600 yards. A stallion , three mares and three foals who were moving down the mountain towards a water source close by where we had stopped We stayed very still by the jeep and watched them drink. The stallion then lead the group across the road about 50 yards away from us and up the opposite side of the valley. As we turned to get back in our jeep we spotted a group of 50 to 60 Red Deer hinds crossing the road ahead of us. We could see the reason for their disturbance - 2 Red stags on the other side watching them but the season was just too early for the hinds to be interested in them. We drove back towards the gates and spotted on the way, close to the road, 7 marmots, 2 foxes ,1 ground squirrel and an animal like a weasel. The only animals we didn't see were the nocturnals - Lynx and wild Boar which we didn't expect to see anyway.

Baat, who is a very steady and safe driver, then drove us back to UB and left us back to our apartment.

I have been on many day trips in my life. This day was one of the most successful I have ever had - everything dropping into place like a film script - An unforgettable experience.

We were delighted by the tour and everything seemed

Hustai is not that interesting but the guide and local family lights up the day - 平心而論Hustai並不建議去,滿無聊的如果沒看到野馬會非常吃虧,但如果你沒有很多時間,又想體驗一下西部的風光還是可以去。 The manager was nice and speaks fluent English and the location of the office is quite convenient for tourist. We went on a day tour to Hustai Park. The van was ok though, the driver's technic is good enough to conquer the worse road condition. And the driver was also nice to elderly people. The guide must be more than 5-star level, highly recommended! Mr.Bat was super helpful and considerate and informative (also with a good sense of humor) The Hustai park was ok itself, not very worth visiting even we really saw the horses in a really far distance ( not allow to approach due to the law) and had nothing to do since then. The local family host lighted up the day, the food was really traditional meal and her farm was super interesting, I would rather stay in her gers for longer time lol But if you are not really used to the food please share with others. I would say the local family is the focus on this tour to be honest lol Maybe we should ask them for one day working on the farm with the local family hahaha (Can you have that tour in the future please?) I think I will travel with them again. I Had more than 50 words come on Trip advisor!!

Half of what was promised didn't happen - I cannot recommend this tour. There was poor communication all around as our driver did not speak any English and the guide just seemed to refuse to talk to us. We were left waiting in many places and told nothing about what was going on. Also, the best part of the tour was said to be the visit with the local ranch family but this part of the tour NEVER HAPPENED! Once the national park visit ended, we ate a bit of lunch and were told that our part of the tour was over but could continue to the next part (to sand dunes at the edge of the desert) for an additional fee. We felt cheated and underwhelmed. I only gave it two stars because of how much I do love being in the beautiful Mongolian countryside.

Feedback - The guide was lovely. But let's be clear here at no point was it made to the paying customer you are paying for a long journey to the park to see absolutely nothing and to look at the horses through a telescope. Waste of money and time

A bit disappointing - I thought this trip would be spending the whole day in the park; instead we drove for 15 minutes, found a herd of horses and watched for half an hour, and then left. Grand total of less than an hour in the park. I also thought we were supposed to stop with a nomadic family to eat, but it was just a shop on the side of the road. Definitely not worth the price.

Scam and should be removed - We did nothing from the activity other than the car ride, seriously! The night before the guide Bachi Nyangar texted tried to push doing another horse riding. We declined and stuck with our itinerary. We specifically asked if any of the activity in the tour does not exist we will cancel and he said all is there. Morning he arrived, the car was awful, dirty and smelly (see pic). We got in and wife in the back refused to continue after few minutes. He was ok and drove back to his home and got his wife’s car (nicer and cleaner). We enjoyed chatting and forgot the issue. When we arrived to the park (12:30pm), it seemed the park was closed and he pressured the guard girl to open the gate (we didn’t understand what was said). It seemed the park was not open to the public or something. We watched movie about it and he came back and took us to the park main office and were told that because of rain etc the roads are destroyed and we will not see horses. Bachi explained that to see horses, need to leave at 4am, I asked why then the trip is scheduled at 9am to leave? The itinerary said having lunch at the park. We saw people having lunch and he just left and we followed. We thought we were going to the other activity of visiting a horseman house etc, but we went to lunch at a local place on the road (3pm). When asked where we are going after lunch he said hotel. When asked about the activity he said it is mistakenly and should be removed. We were shocked and asked him but we confirmed yesterday all activities why didn’t you tell. His honest response was because you said you will cancel otherwise. We got dropped at the hotel. Bachi knew it the night before that we will not see horses and the other activity does not exist, and still took us for the ride. This is the most expensive activity to do in UB for one day ($350/couple). I called TripAdvisor and requested refund and they are looking into it.

Waste of Time and Money - We waited in the lobby of our hotel when all the time, our driver/guide was just sitting in his vehicle across the street. The staff at the hotel assisted us in finding him. This was promised, "After lunch at the park, you will visit a local horseman family. There, you could experience their way of life, their culture, and traditions. A free trial of horseback riding is included", but not done. This tour should've started earlier, at 7am, considering the traffic in Ulaanbaatar. We had lunch at 3pm. In our opinion, this tour was a waste of time and money.

The tour operates was bad. He took me 30$ more after I booked and paid to the TripAdvisor already. - He just took me to see horse around 10 mins and back. It is ridiculous to spend 111$ plus 30$ ( the tour operator need if not he said I can cancel it but in case I cancel I can not get any refund by TripAdvisor
