Hanoi – Ba Be (~ 235km ~ 6h. Road) (L/D)
Ba Be National Park - Departing early from Hanoi, the journey begins towards the first destination. The route takes small secondary roads, meandering through forests and valleys. The scenery becomes more untamed after passing Thai Nguyen city. Lunch is enjoyed along the way. Arrival at Cho Ra is expected in the early afternoon, where a boat awaits at Buoc Lom harbor. The journey continues with a visit to Ban Cam village, home to the Tay ethnic group, situated along the riverbank. The boat then proceeds to Dau Dang village, another Tay community. Overnight stay is by the waterfalls at Ong Pirate’s house, the jungle’s chef.
Ba Be Lake (B/L/D)
Ba Be National Park - A full day is dedicated to exploring the National Park. The morning begins with a walk along the Nang river to the Dau Dang waterfalls. Returning to the boat, the group crosses the Nang river to start a trek through the hills. The trek passes through several villages, visiting H’mong, Dao, and Tay friends nestled in the forest. The journey concludes at Ba Be Lake, where a boat awaits. Crossing the lake leads to Coc Toc village for rest. The night is spent at Mr. Linh’s home, the jungle’s cook. Ba Be is a National Park enveloped by one of Vietnam’s last primary forests.
Ba Be – Bao Lac (~ 180km ~ 6 h Road) (B/L/D)
Cao Bang - An early start for a long and scenic ride. The route is a small, easy road that has replaced a former dirt road. The landscape transforms as the journey ascends the mountain. With no traffic, the route passes through the territories of black Tay, Doa, H’Mong, and San Chi, concluding in the Lo Lo ethnic area. Depending on the day, the ethnic market of Bao Lac can be visited.
Bao Lac – Meo Vac – Dong Van (~120 km, ~4h Road)
Dong Van - This is one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking rides along the Chinese border, featuring numerous stunning mountain passes, valleys, and ethnic territories. The mystical atmosphere offers a journey from another era.
Dong Van – Ha Giang (~150km, ~5h Road) (B/L/D)
Ha Giang - A delightful journey through the province’s heights along the China border. The route crosses passes, valleys, and various cultural regions. Several villages of Hoa, Pu Peo, and Phu friends are visited. The journey also provides a chance to see remnants of French and Hmong architecture, including the H’mong Castle. The mystical atmosphere enhances this magnificent journey between China and Vietnam. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Ha Giang – Hoang Su Phi (~90km, ~3h Road) (B/L/D)
Hoàng Su Phì District - A short stage that includes crossing the Cong Troi pass, offering stunning panoramas. The afternoon is free for a walk to explore Hoang Su Phi’s surroundings. The group is welcomed by friends at the lodge, offering good comfort, delicious meals, and a beautiful view of the forest, river, and gardens.
Hoang Su Phi – Xin Man – Bac Ha (~100 km, ~5h Road) (B/L/D)
Bac Ha - The route alternates between sealed roads and tracks through remote areas. The scenery changes every 15 km, crossing various ethnic cultures, including Dao white and red, Tay, Cao Lan, flower H’mong on the Chinese border, Lo Lo, and about eight other ethnic groups. Overnight stay in a hotel. The road runs between Vietnam and China.
Bac Ha –Luc Yen (~130km, ~4h Road) (B/L/D)
Bac Ha - The Motorbiking Adventure Tour allows time to enjoy the area before departing on a pleasant road after lunch. The route features small hills covered with tea plantations and karstic mountain peaks, reaching Luc Yen in the early afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
