Dunrobin and Highlands Cruise excursion. - What a fantastic excursion with Sarah and a family from our cruise ship. She was very helpful with my husband and his physical needs (walker). She was exceptionally knowledgeable of all the sites we visited and the history of Scotland. We went to a couple of lookouts and view spots that the big buses don’t do. This tour included the town of Dornoch, stopped to see the seals and the Scottish coos! We then stopped at Dunrobin Castle for 2 hours. Next we went to the Falls of Shin where we were lucky to see 3 salmon jump up over the waterfall to try and get up river to spawn. Sarah then drove us to a lookout to see the Carbisdale Castle. Driving through the Scottish highlands was such a fantastic experience and a great way to spend an afternoon. We then stopped at Struie Hill for a fabulous view of many hills and a big lake. Lastly we stopped at Dingwall to see a real Storehouse. We were lucky to have beautiful weather the entire day. Thank you Sarah.

So Much Better Than A Cruise Line Tour - We came to Invergordon on a cruise ship and their tours were sold out. Which was lucky for us - we got a fantastic tour with the three of us and two others in a 7 passenger mini-van with a guide who was Scottish and obviously loved sharing his country with people like us. He showed us things as we were driving back roads a large tour bus couldn't have taken, and even customized the tour a bit based on what we wanted to see. His stories of Dunrobin Castle, the HIghland Clearings, and how things worked politically way back when were really enlightening even though some were sad. The different lives the nobility had versus what the regular people had was certainly food for thought. All in all, an outstanding tour - Alastair was remarkable. When we got back to the ship and compared our tour to what people had who signed with the cruise line, even they agreed we had the better tour, and for less money, too.

A great small group tour - We loved this tour as it was a very small personal group and it was a little flexible in being that we were able to stop to check out extra things along the way. Our guide was very knowledgeable also.

A very charming and worthwhile excursion - highly recommended! - We really enjoyed our tour with Alistair - he's very knowledgeable, very well-spoken and easy to get along with (and also, very funny). This part of Scotland is gorgeous and the sights and sounds kind of sold themselves but, if anyone were to ask me what my favourite parts were, my answer would be the gardens at Dunrobin and the very story-book quality of the little town of Dornoch where we stopped for lunch. This was a sort of primer for us on the charms of Scotland and we were definitely sold! We'll be back, for sure!

One day in Invergordon - Our day with Allistar was outstanding. His knowledge of the region and his desire to deliver a great experience for us prevailed through the 7 hours we were together. The castle and gardens were quite beautiful. The falconry exhibit was a highlight. We were given lunch options and subsequently chose a delightful cafe that served a sumptuous lunch. So glad we took this trip. You will not be disappointed in this company and their services.

Dunrobin Castle is a must-see! - Our cruise ship was 30 minutes late, but Go Highlands waited and sent us on our way in the private van with 5 of us. We were told ahead of time that George would be our guide, but he wasn't, unfortunately. Our guide was ok, but we couldn't hear him in the back seats, and he just didn't seem that interested. First stop was Glenmorangie Distillery, but it wasn't open yet. (You'd think the guide would have known that.) We did get to see the Millionaire's Viewpoint and lots of scenery before reaching Dunrobin Castle. It is an amazing site inside and out. Wandering throughout the castle was informative and each room was full of interesting items. The gardens are spectacular. We ended up back in Dornoch where we were left on our own to explore the cathedral and the small town area. Our guide did offer to stop by Glenmorangie on the way back to the port, but we were running short on time by then and declined. Overall, a good way to spend the time in port to see The Highlands but, to be honest, this particular private tour experience didn't compare as favorably to the many others we've done elsewhere.
