Interactive at it's best! - We have previously met the master gunner and really enjoyed the experience but King Charles II takes interactive experiences to another level! Fun and informative, we loved every moment, thank you. Thanks also to the team 'behind the scenes' lots of work going on to make this a great place to visit

Must see - Beautiful place. Very historic and the guide and actors were excellent. Lovely walk out to the castle when the tide is out but can get a boat if the tide is in. Best to go early in the day

Travel by amphibious vehicle to a castle - Elizabeth Castle also includes Fort Charles and St Helier's hermitage. At low tide you can walk across the causeway or at all times get the bus/boat amphibious vehicle (included in the heritage pass). The castle and fort offer great views over St Aubin's bay and a good look at seabirds. Lots of interesting plants. Climb the walls and experience the Nazi bunkers and gun posts. The keep of the castle contains some interesting videos of the history and great views of ST Helier. The ammunition exhibition in the parade ground barracks is very interesting. There are also regular cannon and musketry demonstrations. Walk along the breakwater and admire the rock where St Helier spent his life and enjoy the views of the castle.

Interesting ! - Interesting... we started with Elisabeth Castle , then the Jersey museum , La Hougout Bie and also the Maritime & Occupation tapestry museum . I think I would have gone to Mont Orgeuil in preference to the last museum, although the tapestry was very interesting , it was only £6 entrance and in hindsight the castle at Mont Orgeuil would have given us more value for money! But saying that - all places were vrey welcoming and friendly - helpful - we discovered that once you had visited one place you could return again as many times as you liked during the validity of your Museum Pass.

Great experience, amazing interactive guide - The castle was amazing- learning about the history of Jersey and the Elizabeth castle was awesome! The views from the castle of the island and surrounding waters were beautiful. The thing that made this exceptional was the re-enactment. Our Master Gunnery Sergeant was informative, hilarious, interactive, and overall made this experience one I will remember forever. Would highly recommend.

My King! Living history at perfection! - 'My King!' rings through my ears as I reflect on yesterday at Elizabeth Castle.... Charles II was in full swing as I climbed the steps through the archway having traversed the parade ground. The Duck amphibian craft journey across the water was excellent, but soon forgotten as I heard the cries of Charles II and joined the historical theatre which awaited me. Truly outstanding... there are not the words! If you haven't seen it, you've missed something huge... if you're planning and visit and the living history element is in town, you are going to have a real treat! The Gunner was also very good, especially if you're up for being drilled and marched from the parade square to the cannon any maybe even participate in the firing of said weapon out to sea. Just be ready to cover your ears! This was one of my 4for3 Jersey Heritage entrances, but if you're not purchasing that pass or have already used it, it's worth paying for Elizabeth Castle. Give yourself 4-5 hours for the full experience. The living history lasts for 3+ hours in total. Cafe and shop on site are good. Depending on the time of day, you can opt to walk over and back (if the tide is out, clearly!), but the Duck is great fun too! This activity is perfect for everyone - solo, couples, families... if you like history you'll love it! Enjoy!

Informative and interesting day out - A visit to Elizabeth Castle starts with a ride on the amphibious bus, which either drives or sails out to the castle, depending on the tide. I went across at high tide and enjoyed the brief voyage. On arrival, I joined the highly entertaining tour of the older parts of the castle led by King Charles 2ND himself . It's a fascinating insite into the history of the castle, jersey, and our monarchy . The king was a great actor , had the audience participation down to a fine art, and we all left smiling. Next, I joined the Sargent for some drill practice and watched the musket and cannon fire. Again, brilliant acting and historical knowledge brought another era of the castles history to life. I enjoyed a locally made pastie in the cafe , wandered around, taking in the rest of the castle and the views of the bay . There is at present renovation going on in parts, and I'm only sorry I won't be here to see the result. The walk back across the sand was lovely as the sun came out. Great day.

Interesting for all ages - Had the 4 for 3 pass and wanted to visit here. Really well laid out and the chap doing the presentation was excellent, really engaging and fun! My only downside on our visit were the workmen - understandably they are improving areas at the castle but wish they could pipe down when the guy was doing his presentation. I could barely hear him for the hammering /drilling going on behind! Fab views from the top and not too strenuous to get up there. Cafe and plenty of toilets all clean. Maybe have few more bits in the shop relating to the castle rather than the generic which are at all sites. Good mornings fun
