Highlights
  • Llanfairpwllgwyngyll - Have a relaxing morning onboard your ship or take in the town of Holyhead before our 1.00 pick up time. We start with a scenic drive across Anglesey to the train station with a very long name! Learn about the Welsh language and have a go at saying Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
  • Menai Suspension Bridge - Take in the stunning views of the Menai Straits. Backed by the majestic mountains of Snowdonia, our viewpoint allows you to see the 198 year old Menai Suspension Bridge spanning the fast flowing waters of the straits.
  • Beaumaris - Spend time in Beautiful Beaumaris. You can tour the moated castle that dates from 1295 (entry ticket not included), indulge yourself in the boutique shops or just wander round this beautiful little town by the sea with views to Snowdonia.
  • Trefignath Burial Chamber - See this little piece of ancient history. The oldest of the 3 burial chambers here is 5500 years old. They may be small, but they are very old; older than Stonehenge or the Pyramids! Learn about Anglesey’s long and unique history, learning how the island got its name.
  • South Stack Cliffs RSPB Reserve - Stand on top of the stunning cliffs, looking down at the lighthouse far below. Birdwatchers will see a range of seabirds; we can provide the binoculars!
Note; some cruises depart at 5pm and we always ensure that you are back at the port an hour early, so this part of the trip will have to be missed if your ship is one that departs early. The owners of the lighthouse usually offer morning tours there, we would recommend that you do this as well if your ship departs at 5pm. Unfortunately, there is not time to go down the 400+ steps to the lighthouse, but the views are best from the top and it saves your knees the hard work!

Wonderful Tour and Exploration of Wales for Small Groups - This tour was booked online prior to our 14 day cruise on Holland America, in lieu of what HAL offered. The guide, Trevor, was a great teacher and commentator as he drove us in van comfortably transporting a small group of 5 around Wales. His knowledge of the area was fantastic. Virtually every question and site shown to us was provided in a manner that was easy to understand and with a touch of humor. We saw areas the larger tours could not get to. We were frankly amazed at how excellent a job he did in touring us. The best illustration of his unique knowledge came when he took us to Celtic Burial Mounds the very first evidence of man made rock formations that pre-date the pyramids. There he provided a history of the area and explained to us what we were seeing. Our guide (and owner Trevor)made certain we had no stress in making it back to the ship getting us back to where we needed to be without any concerns on our part. We highly recommend Tudno tours and Trevor. This tour was easily the highlight of our cruise.

Do not miss this tour !! - What a great time! This is a small group tour, two groups in ours, total of five people, aged 75-10. Everyone had a great time. Our charming host is a retired geography/ history teacher who regaled us with tales of ancient Wales, with plenty of modern tidbits thrown in. He even taught us to speak a bit of Welsh, the 10 year old on the trip nailed it. But everyone had lots of laughs. The tour vehicle is new, climate controlled and very comfortable. We saw everything from crypts predating Stonehenge, to a lighthouse, soaring cliffs, a castle, pastoral farms, a graveyard, and wandered a charming seaside village. Four hours just flew by! Take this tour it will be the highlight of your travels.

Fabulous tour by Trevor - Trevor was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He provided us an excellent tour and was very personable and warm. We went to some very special sites that larger tours cannot visit due to accessibility. We highly recommend Trevor and this tour!

Fun filled tour with Trevor - Trevor did an amazing job as our tour guide on 21 May. He was extremely accommodating and helpful of the persons with mobility issues. His talk was knowledgeable and friendly. I especially enjoyed the stories he related about growing up in the area! We enjoyed seeing the railway station with the longest name and beautiful views of the countryside. I highly recommend Trevor's tour!
