As a seasoned traveler and urban explorer, I often find myself drawn to the vibrant pulse of city life. But every now and then, the call of the countryside beckons, and I find myself yearning for a different kind of adventure. This time, it was the allure of the Scottish Highlands and the promise of an intimate whisky tour that led me to book the Speyside Whisky Tour.

Arriving in Invergordon, I was greeted by David, our guide for the day, who was dressed in traditional Scottish attire. His warm welcome and the sight of his immaculate Mercedes station wagon set the tone for what would be an unforgettable day. Inverness was our next destination, where we paused to admire the town and the River Ness. The vibrant energy of the town was infectious, and I found myself captivated by its charm. We visited the Clava Cairns, believed to be the inspiration for the standing stones in the series, and the Wardlaw Mausoleum, where we descended into a crypt that held the remains of Simon “the Fox” Fraser. Our final stop was the Culloden Memorial Battlefield, a place steeped in history and emotion. As we explored the site, David shared his wealth of historical knowledge, bringing the past to life in a way that was both engaging and enlightening.
