Boston in the Fall 2023 - We travelled on Wednesday 25th October. Lucia was a great host. The pick-up was easy and very close to our hotel which was handy. There were plenty of stops and luckily everyone was good at keeping to time which was great. The weather was beautiful for October and we had great views of the fall, which was the main reason for the trip. We had 18 on our trip which was a good number. Lucia provided snacks and bottles of water too. I would recommend this trip if you don’t have a car in Boston and want to get out and see the local countryside and learn a bit about the history.

Nice but better food. - Nice tour. Two issues. The bus was very rough and bumpy and there were not very good restaurant choices. Tour guide was great and attentive and knowledgeable.

Overall this trip was... - Overall this trip was fantastic! We met great people, had beautiful scenery & enjoyed learning all the history! Our guide was wonderful! Only thing that would have made the trip quite a bit better & why it didn't get 5 stars, would be needed upgrades on the bus! The seats were not very comfortable. Too much of the ride was very rough!! Every bump in the road felt like we'd hit a boulder.

Was ok, could have been a better experience - First, thank you for providing a tour to view fall foliage. Our bus had 23 passengers and Lucia was our driver. I've taken many small grp tours all around the US and in Italy and France. I have to point out that this tour, History and Fall Foliage, was not as good a tour as others I've been on. Pickup was late but it was not Lucia's fault - there was discrepancy with a pickup somewhere else. Perhaps do not provide so many pickup locations. Everyone should be able to get to one or two central locations, which would make being on schedule more possible, and a better experience for everyone on the tour. Because of the late pickup, we were stuck in heavier traffic. Because one of passengers was consistently late coming back to the bus on time, we were further behind schedule. Our time at various stops, other than Old Sturbridge Village, was reduced, I feel. The stop at Old Sturbridge Village of 3 hrs was too long. We were told to eat at the Tavern in the back of OSV, and they were out of food often and had limited selections. At the end of the stop, several of us went in the eating place at the front of the museum/park and wished we had eaten there instead (quiche, sandwiches, etc.). Perhaps the tour guide should tell the grp what the food options are and let them decide where to eat. The tavern I ate at had chicken pot pie, shepherd's pie, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, etc. that would appeal to many people. Because we were already running behind schedule, and a party on our bus had to make their flight that evening, we did not get the "special surprise" that Lucia told us about. Again, not Lucia's fault, but I wish we could have gone to the farm (as I understand from other reviews). The bus was very noisy and bumpy, especially towards the back. The seats aren't very comfortable and after 8 hrs, getting bumped around is not fun. A positive is that the windows are big and provide good views. Again, thanks for providing the service, the bottled waters and breakfast bars.

Beautiful scenery but two distinct tours - The first half of the tour was ideal for couples/adults looking for beautiful vistas and bucolic scenery. The second half was ideal for families with small children. But unless you’re watching children/grandchildren enjoying the period themed sites, the second half of the day feels more like being caught in a tourist trap. I would give 5 stars to each half of the day, if they were distinct, separate tours.

Disappointed tour - The bus driver just drove us around without giving too much info about the history or background of the stops. We spent 3 hours in old Sturbridge village ourselves which is quite long and boring.

Bad experience - I called the tour operator to specifically ask how long was the stop at Wayside inn Grist mill and lied to me and said 30 minutes when in reality Lucia only gave us 10 minutes. She also only gave us 2 hours at old Sturbridge village when the itinerary specifically said 3 hours. Lucia was very annoying on the way back home and she kept ranting about the traffic. I wouldn’t recommend this tour since they give false information and don’t care about the consequences.
