Blue River provides a magical expedition through the abundant jungles of Costa Rica! Explore a magnificent waterfall, wander in a Botanical Garden enveloped by wilderness, and immerse yourself in a dreamlike experience in the Butterflies’ Garden. Afterwards, unwind with a soothing dip in a thermal pool, complemented with nurturing volcanic mud for your skin.
- RECOMMENDATIONS:
- Wear comfortable clothing, walking shoes, and swimsuit. Take a change of clothes, camera, biodegradable sunscreen and insect repellent, and extra money for souvenirs.
- NOTES:
- French-speaking guide available only on Saturday during high season, from November 1st to April 30th. Tour not recommended for adults over 60 years of age.
- Transportation included only from/to centrally located Hotels in the Arenal area. If you’re staying in a different area, an extra fee may apply
- It is of the utmost importance that you provide your complete Hotel/Cruise details at the time of booking. Without this information, we will not be able to confirm your reservation. If this is the case, please contact us immediately to reconfirm your reservation
- Tour is conducted on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday’s in English language. French language tour capabilities are available on Saturdays during high season November 1st to April 30th. Wonderful trip courtesy Esteban & Jose - Our family went on a day trip to blue river resort, Dino park, botanical garden and hot springs. Many Thanks to Esteban and Jose because then the trip was wonderful and also we got to know about amazing facts about Costa Rica. On many occasions during this trip, they went the extra mile by showing us animals during the way. In addition, I would to appreciate Esteban, who went out of the way to help me buy a medicine for my wife as she was not feeling well at that time. Once again a big thanks to both Esteban & Jose

Great Excursion - I had the greatest time with our tour guide Esteban and driver Jose. They were both very knowledgeable of Costa Rica and made our excursion to Blue River Resort more enjoyable. The journey from our resort, Rui Palace, to the excursion was around 2+ hours however Esteban used that time to provide us with a detailed overview of Guanacaste, and the many historical facts and land marks. Along the ride, Jose saw monkeys and then a slouth in trees by the side of the road. He abruptly stopped to let us get out and take photos. Esteban and Jose made sure we arrived safe, enjoyed our excursion and got us back safe and sound. I highly recommend this Nexus tours and this dynamic duo for your Costa Rican excursions!

GREAT EXCURSION!!! - GREAT EXCURSION!!! Our tour guide Esteban was great. He was friendly & knowledgeable. There is a 2 hour drive to sight itself. While en route we got to see amazing views: the mountains with volcanic smoke. We also saw animals en route the white monkey & slouth in their natural habitat. The greenery, foliage, flowers were beautiful! The sauna, mud bath was a fun experience. You hike or ride the bus with driver to experience the breathtaking amazing view of the waterfall....it is EVERYTHING!! WELL worth the hike or drive. Kudos to our driver Jose for getting us there safely. 5/5 starts, highly recommend MUST do activity when you vacation in Costa Rica!

The best tour guides in Costa Rica - Esteban and Jose gave the best tour I've had ever this is my 3rd trip to Costa Rica and these two guys had answers for every question I had. They also were the kindest tour guides ever!!! When I return next year I will ONLY BOOK THEM!!!

Absolutely Amazing - My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Costa Rica today with our family and friends! Our tour guide Esteban and driver Jose were absolutely AMAZING! While we were driving, Esteban found out it was our anniversary and he asked Jose to pull over to one of the street vendors. To our surprise, he bought us some Lychee fruit that we absolutely enjoy eating! That speaks volume for the rest of the guide! Thank you so much for making our special day memorable!

Family Trip to Costa Rica - Esteban was very thorough with his tour. He was polite, patient, and kind. His driver Jose also did an amazing job navigating the road with the many potholes. They were both very professional and helpful, I would take another tour if I know that they are my ride and tour guide. It was an overall great experience!

Fantastic excursion! - This was an amazing experience!!! We truly experienced all that you hear about Costa Rica!! Beautiful rain forest and waterfall. The waterfall was exhilarating! The tour guide (Alejandro) and driver were both fantastic!!! Definitely recommend this experience!

Family Friendly Cultural Tours at Nexus - My family and I opted for the Blue River + Hot Spring Tour. This was our first time in Central America and we really appreciated the experience that NexusTours provided us. We worked closely with a Nexus representative at our hotel in selecting through the many options they had available (it was between this package and the Nicaragua day tour). On the day of our tour, we were picked up at our resort promptly and supported throughout the day of our adventure. Issac and Wilburth were our tour guides and they were very through in giving us a run down of the area, our tour sites, and Costa Rican culture! If you are hoping to venture into the local area without the overwhelming stress of having to navigate the area on your own, Nexus is the place to go for family-friendly and in-depth tour packages.
