Stunning Rafting Experience ~ Worth The Trip to Wellington Itself! - Many thanks to Hamish, Parker, Jordan and the rest of the Wellington Rafting crew! This was by far, the most fun and beautiful whitewater rafting experience we have had to date. Pick up from Wellington CBD was quick and easy, with no delays. Received confirmation regarding any pick up time changes/river conditions in the lead up to the day. The team provided all equipment including warm fleeces, wetsuits, helmets, life jackets, water jackets, rafts, paddles, etc. Jordan and Parker took the time to explain and emphasise river and rafting safety which was consistent throughout the experience. Our friendly and experienced guide Hamish took us through the river; explaining the flow, the rapids, and the history of the river and its vegetation/wildlife. We rafted down the Grade 3, extending for 11km. Throughout the experience, Hamish always prioritised safety and his experience and instructions gave us the confidence to enjoy the trip even more. The beauty of the river and the surrounding forest was stunning and a true highlight of the experience. The rapids were incredibly fun to traverse, be prepared to get wet! Whilst on the Grade 3, if conditions are suitable and safe you may have the option of rock jumping. As a bonus, the team even brought packed lunches to enjoy on the river banks. Coming towards the end, the team met us at the end point where we are able to jump back into our dry gear and ready to return home to Wellington. Summary: The Wellington Rafting team are exceptional at their work, with an incredibly experienced team onboard. They have a big emphasis on safety which was consistent throughout. This rafting experience was once in a lifetime, and worth coming to Wellington to experience in itself. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Wellington, especially if you enjoy the water.

A True Adventure in Wellington and a Must Do Experience in NZ! Best of both Islands! - Blown away that this epic, incredible adventure is so close in Wellington. This should be number one on a visit to to North Island, heck to both Islands! I've done the river boats in Queenstown, rafted through all kinds of rapids in Colorado, Texas and Oregon and this was by far, the most epic, exciting and gorgeous rafting trip I have ever been on! The landscape is some of the most beautiful, mind blowing lush canyons I've ever seen and the rapids were incredible, fast and amazing. For Lord of the Rings fans you start off in Rivendell and it's as beautiful as you can imagine. Hamish was our guide and is great leader. He and his patient and incredible crew always makes sure everyone is safe and at ease with the gear while showing you the true time of your life. Huge drops, fast water. Breaks for leaping off small cliffs and warm snacks and Milo to get you ready for the next set of drops. I can't say enough good things - a true adventure! Went with my cousin who was visiting and after touring all over New Zealand, was truly the best experience we had and we will never forget it.

A Fantastic Family Adventure - A fantastic family adventure. The guide was very informative and made us feel well looked after. Everything was provided for us, so we could just turn up and enjoy the experience. It was exciting at times and also very relaxing, as we had plenty of time to float down the river enjoying the ancient forest scenery between the rapids. Also, a great bonding experience as we had to take instruction and work as a team, I felt the teenagers got a lot out of it. We are looking forward to doing it again.

No need to go to Rotorua when we have this in the Hutt! - Absolutely Epic trip - lucky enough to get a day when the river was up from a heap of rain which meant we got down the river faster than normal but still got a good 3 hours on the water. The scenery was incredible and Hamish was a great guide. Would rate this trip higher than the Kaituna river for the scenery, duration and the amount of rapids you got to experience over the 10.5km trip.

Fun, exciting and toasty warm rafting the Hutt river in late autumn - I have just spent an exhilarating morning with my 11 year old son and his friend rafting the Hutt river with Wellington Rafting. Prior to departure I was expecting it to be a fun but chilly experience in late Autumn. But we were given thick fleeces to wear under our wetsuits which, combined with the exertion of paddling, kept me toasty the whole way. I stayed warm even after I had been in the river a few times. Rafting down the river, thick, native, untouched bush on both sides of a steep canyon, I felt like I was a million miles away from everything. Beautiful scenery, fun, exciting, rafting, and Hamish our tour guide was awesome, All of that just 30 minutes from Wellington. Highly recommend.
