Breathtaking Scenery and Unmatched Adventure – Absolutely Perfect!! - I went on the Grade 3 rafting trip with Wellington Rafting, and honestly, it was the best thing I did on my entire holiday. I had high expectations going in, but they absolutely blew me away. Hamish, our guide, was awesome—super professional, fully certified, and just a great guy to be around. He made sure everything was sorted, from the gear to a tasty lunch halfway through and epic photos. All I had to do was show up and enjoy the ride. And wow, what a ride! The river was stunning, winding through untouched native forest that felt like stepping into another world. What I really loved was how much they care about the river and the local community. It’s not just about the adventure for them—it’s about protecting the environment and sharing the stories of the area. That authenticity really stood out to me. I actually loved it so much that I went back and did it all again the next day. If you’re looking for an epic, authentic adventure in New Zealand, Wellington Rafting is 100% the way to go. wow - Worth every penny...... The 10 km long river rafting with amazing views. The organiser Hamish and his friend Sam... made the adventure so so so much fun... we had family from Italy who simply loved every bit of it..... amazing river, amazing experience, must do in Wellington :)

Amazing wilderness rapids adventure - Amazing adventure through the rapids in Wellington. We got picked up and dropped off easily from Wellington, supplied lunch on the trip. Entertaining guide who made the adventure even better with easy to understand instructions and tailored the trip to our group! Highly recommend this half day tour while in Wellington. I think this tour was a perfect amount of time on the rapids.

What a great time!! - An amazing experience, Jordan and Hamish were so informative, guided us with confidence and had some great stories to tell. This was my first time rafting and they made it easy, fun and really exhilarating, I can't wait to go again now! Jordan also helped me jump off a rock into the river, notwithstanding my fear of heights, thank you for that! Stunning Rafting Experience ~ Worth The Trip to Wellington Itself! - Many thanks to Hamish, Parker, Jordan and the rest of the Wellington Rafting crew! This was by far, the most fun and beautiful whitewater rafting experience we have had to date. Pick up from Wellington CBD was quick and easy, with no delays. Received confirmation regarding any pick up time changes/river conditions in the lead up to the day. The team provided all equipment including warm fleeces, wetsuits, helmets, life jackets, water jackets, rafts, paddles, etc. Jordan and Parker took the time to explain and emphasise river and rafting safety which was consistent throughout the experience. Our friendly and experienced guide Hamish took us through the river; explaining the flow, the rapids, and the history of the river and its vegetation/wildlife. We rafted down the Grade 3, extending for 11km. Throughout the experience, Hamish always prioritised safety and his experience and instructions gave us the confidence to enjoy the trip even more. The beauty of the river and the surrounding forest was stunning and a true highlight of the experience. The rapids were incredibly fun to traverse, be prepared to get wet! Whilst on the Grade 3, if conditions are suitable and safe you may have the option of rock jumping. As a bonus, the team even brought packed lunches to enjoy on the river banks. Coming towards the end, the team met us at the end point where we are able to jump back into our dry gear and ready to return home to Wellington. Summary: The Wellington Rafting team are exceptional at their work, with an incredibly experienced team onboard. They have a big emphasis on safety which was consistent throughout. This rafting experience was once in a lifetime, and worth coming to Wellington to experience in itself. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Wellington, especially if you enjoy the water.
