Ridiculously amazing experience - Ridiculously amazing experience, these creatures are so massive, powerful and gentle. Hervey Bay Dive Centre couldn’t have been more accommodating and professional. We had to make a last minute change to our booking and they worked it all out for us with no fuss. Will be recommending this experience to everyone I know.

Awesome Experience - Absolutely loved this experience. We’ve also done a whale watching trip in Brisbane on a much bigger boat, and this was so much better. Got to do some snorkelling to which was so cool. The food was great.

Bucket list, just do it. - Did the whale 🐳 swim today 14 September. Had an awesome day, even though the weather was a little on the average. What really made it amazing was the crew who went out of their way to make it a great day. Special callout to Imogen, who was nice to everybody, but particularly my wife and daughter. She is a wealth of information on whales and spent a great deal of the day at the bow spotting them and the. Telling us all about them. She is a keeper for this business. Thanks to all the team at Hervey Bay Dive, this is such a life bucket list experience, and even when it’s average due to weather, it still an amazing day.

Highly recommend - Could not recommend this tour enough! Mobi, Ines and Ed were fantastic :) We saw lots of whales, got in the water with a couple. Even though it is not guaranteed, the crew try their best!

Bucket List Experience. - Our daughter booked the whale swim experience as a bucket list adventure and the day exceeded our expectations. The team were very efficient in having us fill out the paperwork and get fitted into our wetsuits. There is a limit of 24 people on the boat which gave everyone a good amount of room to move about and not feel cramped. Eddy, the captain and owner kept us informed once we set off and the 2 crew members did a great job of looking after everyone and kept the food coming. We saw a lot of dolphins and plenty of whales and half the people on board, while snorkeling, saw whales swimming under them or very near to them. Eddy stopped multiple times to give everyone several opportunities to snorkel. We did have excellent weather but it was a day our family will never forget and would highly recommend the experience.

Better luck next year ! ? - Great Captain and 2nd mate. Very friendly. Nice small group - individual care. 2 times in water but whales went away. More mums with calves in the bay that U can't swim with. I will be back next year in a better month.

Nice crew but too pricey if whale swim isn't guaranteed - Lovely crew, subway 4in sandwiches and a soft drink for lunch, snacks throughout the day. Had the chance to see whales on the boat and the captain was trying his best to get us close up but I was really disappointed that we didn't swim with the whales and it wasn't communicated to us on the boat that we wouldn't be swimming with them. Ended up snorkeling on the edge of Fraser Island but there wasn't much to see... some dead reef and a few fish. Overall the crew were really lovely but I think this shouldn't be advertised as "swim with whales" if that aspect is not guaranteed. There are plenty of other whalewatching tours with lunch in the area for a lot cheaper than what we paid, but this is the only company that offers a swim option, which is why we paid the higher price. For $185 they should be offering partial refunds if you don't swim with the whales, lots of people had brought go pro cameras etc and were disappointed that all we did was snorkel a bit and not even in a great area.

Lots of Whales - Great crew helping out (my wife was seasick). Lots of whale sightings. However, the whales did not co-operate for a swim.

Great tour for whale watching, almost great for whale swimming - As a whale WATCHING tour this was a 5 star experience. We must have seen 15 to 20 whales throughout the day, and at close range. The captain did an outstanding job of finding the whales and the crew was friendly and very helpful. The crew gets 5 stars, as well. We also swam with 6 of the whales which would have been a surreal experience if not for one significant flaw ... the underwater visibility in Hervey Bay was not good, at least on the day we were there. I'd say less than 10 meters. At one point we had 4 whales swimming around us, all within 100 to 200 feet of us. We could see them surfacing for air but we couldn't see any of them underwater. There were two occasions where a whale swam right under us and we caught a glimpse of them through the murky water, which was pretty cool. If the visibility were better this would have been an off the charts review but, unfortunately, I have to give the whale swimming part of the tour only 4 stars. I don't know if Hervey Bay always has poor visibility or if we were just unlucky. The weather was nice and the water was fairly calm so I suspect it is always like that. I suggest reading other reviews to get a broader perspective.
