A perfect day - We had an almost perfect day. The crew on the boat was really friendly and helpful. Coffee, tea and lunch was included. We were lucky, because we (the crew) spotted the most curious whales. They swam right up to our boat so we had perfect photo opportunities. The Dutch lady of the crew took pictures of us and sent them through WhatsApp afterwards. What a service. Even though the number of people on the boat was quite a bit larger than advertised (36 instead of the advertised maximum of 20), everyone got a good view. The canoeing experience was beautiful although a bit short. After the first stop at K'gari, there were even more whales. The second stop at the island was a snorkeling stop. A first time experience for some of us. All in all we had a beautiful day. We can recommend this trip for everyone.

Absolutely fabulous day out - lives up to the hype! - It’s very rare that a tour lives up to the hype in every way but this one honestly did! The weather was a bit cloudy with the wind from the wrong direction and we were early in the season - despite all this we had seen several whales, a turtle, a dingo and two pods of dolphins by 9am! Admittedly what you see is in part luck of what is around it part of it is also the skill of the crew in spotting things and the skipper getting you in the right place at the right time and manoeuvring the boat to give you good views. It also helps that the boat only Carrie’s a maximum of 35 people so the deck is never very crowded. We reluctantly left the whales to another boat and had morning tea with hot drinks, cookies and cakes whilst headed off to our first stop. We split into groups to either snorkel or walk up the sand dune and then swapped over. The snorkelling was well organised in small groups and the tender on watch at a safe distance in case someone needed it. The water was chilly but the boat provide shorty wetsuits and everyone managed with those - although we were glad we had our own long suits for our 5 and 7 year olds as they feel the cold a lot. The boat also have noodles to help anyone who would like one. Jimbo who was guiding in the water, found a turtle resting on the bottom for us and we all got a good look at it, which was awesome. Then we headed to the island and Hannah gave us a very informative tour up to a lookout point at the top of the dunes then along the creek to a swimming spot with a rope swing. Then back to the boat for lunch and another group of whales, these coming really close to the boat at times, lunch was simple but great, fresh salads, roast chicken, ham, beef, bread and falafel for the veggies. They even kindly cut up some cheese for my fussy kids! We could eat whilst watching the whales! Next stop was kyaking, this was along a small freshwater creek, so no rough waves to battle and an interesting way to see a little further into the island. More interesting info from Hannah about the area and the mangroves. Then it was time for ‘tubing’ - my husband, son and I wanted to go whilst my daughter didn’t so the crew on the beach kindly kept an eye on her for us while Damo took us out on the big float. It was so much fun!! He is a very skilful boat driver and got it just right so it was fast enough and fun enough to cause some shrieking but not so fast or bumpy that anyone came off - it’s not as easy as it sounds! Then we had some free time on the beach for swimming and playing with the kids. The sun was out by now so most people went for a swim. Then back to the boat for a warm shower then hot drinks and afternoon cheese and biscuits accompanied by more whales! Finally then powered back to the marina. Shout out to the crew, Damo, Jimbo, Hannah, Emma and Cassie - who were professional, friendly and super helpful. They were all also fab with our kids, making them feel part of it all and gently encouraging when our little one was nervous of the kyaking without being pushy. The boat is well organised, spotlessly clean and nicely equipped. The tender that drives up onto the beach is particularly cool and helps to make the kayaking part of the trip very efficient. Honestly I couldn’t recommend a day out more. My daughter rated it ‘one zillion out of one hundred’ and I agree! !

Thar’ She Blows! - Firstly, apologies for the late review! An amazing day out on the water seeing the wildlife and enjoying some of the beaches on Fraser Islands west shore. Had mainly chosen the tour for the Humpback Whales and we were not disappointed. We were late in the season and the weather was a “bit fresh” but still saw Mothers and Calves, would definitely plan to come back another time, early in the season when the chances of closer encounters or even being able to get in the water with them are better. Also spent some time ashore, walking the (almost) deserted beaches, canoeing in the creeks and climbing Sand Dunes (hard going but with the view from the top). Transfers to the beach are by boat but the crew kept tabs on everyone and ensured that everyone could do things at their own pace. Food and drinks served throughout, definitely a tour for the wildlife lovers with a bit of adventure thrown in!

Fantastic whale spotting experience - This trip was perfect from start to finish, such a memorable experience. We saw so many whales on their migration, we definitely lost count. Single whales, pods, mothers with their calves, we were extremely lucky that day. The crew was excellent at spotting whales in the distance and pulling up close without ever interfering with these majestic creatures. Great opportunities to take photos from a short distance. The crew was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the whales and marine wildlife conservation efforts. We then landed on Fraser Island with an amphibian vehicle which was quite the highlight. The kayaking and floating experiences were truly unique and we also had some time to relax on the beach and enjoy the warm waters. Later we climbed one of the famous sand dunes and enjoyed the magnificent views. Morning tea and lunch were also very enjoyable. The whole trip was very well planned and executed, and the crew was outstanding. If I could give ten stars I would. Keep up the great work!

Would give 6 stars if I could - What an amazing day, the crew worked so hard to make the trip enjoyable. We did kayaking, tube riding and snorkelling, not to mention whale watching galore. Excellent commentary and opportunities for photos, highlight was when they cut the engine and put the microphone in so we could hear the whale song. Exceeded expectations in all aspects, including the morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

great crew and amazing whale experience - the only reason for the 4 star review has nothing to do with the crew. the weather was not in our favour so we ended up with more awesome whale watching than outdoor adventures. due to rough water we could only do a short kayak and the dune hike so it is hard to rate the full remote k’gari experience. the crew was super friendly and did their best although the whales certainly made it exciting.

An amazing experience - Fantastic day out to see the majestic hump back whales up close. We were lucky enough to see many of them with their calves putting on a show. The staff were great & lunch provided was nice. The only downfall was that we felt the activities were a little rushed & we did not get to see much of K’gari Island. Overall an amazing experience and I would highly recommend taking this tour.
