Highlights
 • Salt Mine of Maras - The Salt Mines of Maras are located 50 km in the northeast of Cusco city, at an altitude of 3,200 m.a.s.l. Geographically, they are located in the lower part of the sub-basin and left bank of the Salineras stream, towards its mouth in the river Vilcanota, in the jurisdiction of the peasant communities of Maras and Pichingoto, between the gorge of the Qaqahuiñay, Cruz Mocco, Llully Mocco and Chupayoq hills. It has three access roads: from the town of San Francisco de Maras, through the bridle path or “runañan” to the salt mines, the road affirmed from the town of San Francisco de Maras, and crossing the Inca bridge of Tarabamba by the Pichingoto community.
 • Sacred Valley of the Incas - Driving time Back to Cusco City
 • Pisac - Pisac is perhaps best known for its Incan ruins, known as Inca Písac, which lie atop a hill at the entrance to the valley. … The Inca constructed agricultural terraces on the steep hillside, which are still in use today. They created the terraces by hauling richer topsoil by hand from the lower lands.
 • Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo - Ollantaytambo Ruins. In the 15th century Inca Pachacutec conquered and began to rebuild the town of Ollantaytambo, constructing terraces for farming and an irrigation system. These huge terraces make up what is called the Fortress or Temple Hill. The town became home to Inca nobility.
 • Complejo Arqueologico Chinchero - Chinchero is a small Andean Indian village located high up on the windswept plains of Anta at 3765m about 30km from Cusco. … The construction of the wall and many other ruins and agricultural terraces (which are still in use) are attributed to Inca Tupac Yupanqui who possibly used Chinchero as a kind of country resort.

Richard is the best—highly recommend his tour!! - We had an amazing time on our private tour of the Sacred Valley!! Richard is extremely knowledgeable and personable, our day with him was elevated by his vast knowledge of the history, spirituality, and the overall rich culture of the Inca people. His enthusiasm for educating us and willingness to answer our many questions was such a wonderful complement to the sites he took us to visit. We didn’t initially have a Sacred Valley tour planned and we are so glad we decided to book a tour with Richard—it was one of the highlights of our trip!

When in Cusco, don't miss the viator... -
When in Cusco, don't miss the viator private tour to Sacred Valley! Their staff is completely prepared to show you and teach you about the history and particularities of each site. My guide was Richard, he was absolutely great. If you can, ask for him.

They were a no show. AVOID AVOID. - I rate them ZERO. A sham and dodgy company. We have waited 2.5 hours for a pickup. Hotel has called them multiple times - both numbers apparently switched off! Website says 24/7 availability. Tripadvisor sent me multiple confirmations of my booking and advice to print tickets in lead up to our tour the last of which I received just days before. My once in a lifetime trip ruined! Now we haven’t anytime to look at rebooking and do the sacred valley and we also now need to spend time chasing a refund from trip-advisor. Words cannot express the dismay and disappointment we feel right now toward this company. I believe in karma, and yes it is coming to get you!!! You should be ashamed not just for your poor and unscrupulous practices, but for shaming your own people’s. Peruvians are wonderful for the most part, our Hótel staff were so apologetic and ashamed of you and the reputation and impression you created for them and tourism in Peru.
