Highlights
  • JWPC+Q3P - We seek to show during your tour the activities carried out by the Andean people, especially those of the rural community of Racchi Ayllu, for example, the alpaca cattle and their differences are shown, as well as the guinea pigs and their breeding process.
In addition, it seeks to revalue the ancestral textile legacy through fabrics worked by hand with the fiber of alpaca, sheep and vicuña; taking into account that these products are made by women who live in inequality of opportunities and domestic problems. For this reason, through We want to empower them, that they achieve economic independence, that they live knowing and respecting their rights as women, and above all that they do not forget their ancestral textile legacy, but that it lasts and can be taught to new generations.
During that time, you will be part of the experience of the textile manufacturing process, such as weaving waist bracelets starting with basic designs and different colors; and alpaca or sheep fiber fabrics will also be dyed with elements of nature with which three colors will be formed.

Best tour ever!! - I have booked many a tour through TripAdvisor in my travels, and this is the best one I've ever done! The lunch that was included was absolutely delicious, and everyone was patient with showing me the whole process of gathering alpaca wool, cleaning it, spinning it into yarn, and dyeing it. I even got to weave my own bracelet. The yarn you dye and the bracelet you weave are yours to keep! Plus, they had an excellent selection of alpaca products for sale at a fair price, and the organization helps to support single mothers. If you're in Cusco, this is an absolute MUST DO! I cannot recommend more!!!!!!!

A unique, hidden gem with a good cause! - My husband & I visited Andean Colors and had a very unique experiencing learning about the dyeing and weaving process. It was very interesting to learn how they extracted colors from nature. The products they had were very good. Although there was no pressure to buy, we ended up buying a lot. It was inspiring to hear that the business was for and run by single moms. We enjoyed petting and feeding the alpacas and llamas there. Would definitely recommend this attraction to everyone.

Must visit the llamas and alpacas, and especially the Andean Colours process. They support single mothers in need! - Andean Colours was very informative and did a live demonstration including the visitors on how the special dyeing process works. The products they offer are all handmade with special care and most importantly, help single mothers in need. The business was actually created by a single mother to help others like her. The staff was friendly and did not insist that you buy from them. To add to this experience, we also had a chance to feed and interact with adorable alpacas and llamas! I highly recommend a visit to this site. A very unique and cultural experience!

Awesome but somewhat out of the way Experience - My sister and I attended this experience together and we had a great time! We are both in our early 20’s and really enjoyed getting to learn about the dyeing process in its entirety. Also, the lunch that our hosts provided was amazing and some of the best food we had in Peru. It was also fun that the girls that were working with us all day got to eat and hang out with us, they’re so sweet and gave us lots of Cusco recs! We did not book it as a private experience, but we were the only two doing the experience that day which ended up being awesome because we got one on one advice when we were trying to turn our wool into string. I also loved getting to see the alpacas, llamas and guinea pigs. The only thing I will say is that this experience is pretty far from the actual city of Cusco (at least a 1 hour drive). So, if you are looking for something to do without having to arrange for a car/taking the bus this may not be the experience for you. But Andean Colors is not only a fun experience, it also supports an amazing cause helping single mothers) so to me it was worth it.

Unique experience for textile enthusiasts - For craft and textile enthusiasts, I highly recommend you to live this unique experience! To live the adventure fully, I went there in colectivo + 15 minutes walk in the middle of pampas. Very doable without taxi and the road is beautiful!! I had a great time with Marco who taught me a lot about different natural dyes and also weaving where I had the right to a beautiful initiation! It also explains the role of this foundation and the personal story of the founder who gives all meaning... A very nice experience!!

Andean Colors - Andean Colors one of my best experiences on my trip to Peru, each of the details of this place is magical, the experience you live here is unique, the managers of Andean Color are extremely friendly and clear people when explaining each of their activities, I would definitely return. They are 100% honest people when making a sale of one of their products.

Hidden Gem: Authentic rural Peruvian cultural experience - This was the best day trip experience I have had in Peru! The day began by feeding the alpacas & llamas, followed by a brief tour of the farm/workshop. The background information of the company was explained (in short a local company that produces fabrics in a traditional way & also helps women suffering from domestic violence, very good cause). This was followed by walking the llamas, collecting leaves for the dye, learning how to dye fabric, weave & more. I now have a lot of respect for those artisans who can produce such amazing fabrics. This is all in a rural location surrounded by gorgeous mountains and lovely staff (who are also very patient with bad weavers). Overall this is an amazing experience I'd recommend to anyone staying in Cusco or the nearby area. It is a bit difficult to access but that only adds to the experience. I cannot recommend it more & really hope this group sees the success they deserve!
