Highlights
  • Chinchero District - We will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco at 7:00 am and travel for one hour by private van to Chincheros, a small village with beautiful views of the Sacred Valley. In this charming village, you will see adobe homes, narrow cobbled streets, and people in traditional Peruvian clothing. Here, the villagers still practice many Inca traditions and crafts. If you wish, you will see the demonstration of how wool is washed and dyed using native plants and minerals.
  • Moray - We will then continue our journey to Moray in order to see the fascinating site used by the Incas for agricultural experiments and cultivating seeds. There, you will learn how cleverly designed a drainage system at the bottom of the terraces in order to avoid flooding during the rainy season.
  • Salt Mine of Maras - After the tour of Moray, you will take a 20 minute bus ride to the salt mines of Maras. At this amazing site, you can see the pans fed by saline spring water that were built on steep terraces along one side of a narrow valley. The water is sent through the network of channels where the water slowly evaporates leaving the salt behind. Salt has been collected from Maras since pre-Incan times and it is thought that a collective of salt miners has maintained the terraces and channels for hundreds of years.
  • Ollantaytambo - We will continue our scenic journey to the amazing town of Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo is a classic Incan city which conserves the traditional Incan urban construction of narrow streets adjacent to flowing streams. As you walk through the stone streets, the gentle sound of flowing water will make it easy for you to imagine the city as it was in the time of the Incas. In the upper part of the town, there is an impressive ceremonial center that was used for water worship and also a mighty fortress that protected the access point to the lower part of the valley. We will follow the beautiful route to Urubamba, the heart of the Sacred Valley, where we will stop for a buffet lunch
  • Pisac - After lunch, we will take you to the small village of Pisaq, where you can enjoy your lively artisan market and have some free time to interact with the townsfolk and to shop for handcrafts and souvenirs. Finally, you will be taken to explore the Pisaq Ruins before you return to Cusco between 6:30 am and 7:00 pm

A MUST do day trip from Cusco - Wow, what a day! My husband and I opted for a private day tour and our expectations were far exceeded. Our guide Juan and driver Modesto were fantastic. Ask for Juan! We did not feel rushed at all and he answered our many questions throughout the day. This was a great opportunity to see so many different and authentic cultural and historical places. 100% recommend - you will not be disappointed.

Professional, clean and organized - worth the extra money - We had an amazing day on this tour. They picked me up promptly at the hotel in a very clean van. The tour guide Juan spoke English well and was so knowledgeable and friendly and it was like being on a trip with an old friend. The driver was very safe and I never felt unsafe once as some of the roads are pretty windy and narrow. We stayed in front of all the tour buses and there were many, so we were able to beat the crowds at every stop and then some. This made a BIG difference. When we booked, George was quick to respond to multiple questions on a Saturday night and very professional. I couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was a highlight and a great way to spend a day to get in many sites that you may not have had time for otherwise. I would recommend this company!

Perfect Ancient Incan Experience - Just absolutely incredible experience. Our tour guide Juan was awesome. Him and his personal driver Ruty picked us up in an extremely spacious van. The space for the long trip was much appreciated. Juan perfect English, had many stories and insights, and had all the answers to our questions. The stops are all beautiful and very instagrammable. This trip brings you directly into the ancient Incan world. Couldn’t recommend any more highly.

Great experience with Inti Sun Trek and guide Auriol Medina - The professional service of Inti Sun Trek made the trip as enjoyable as possible. Pickup from hotel was on time, the van was spacious and comfortable for the 8 of us. What made the trip outstanding was our guide Auriol Medina. We couldn't ask for a better one. He is very knowledgeable about the Inca culture and history, and can sure tell a story. The 8 of us also did a 4-day Inca trail hike to Machu Picchu via Inti Sun Trek. This is the most memorable trip I have been on in years. 12 porters (with one also functioning as a chef and one as an assistant chef) did most of the hard work - carrying on their backs everything needed to set up tents, making three meals a day and serving food with silverware and stainless steel cups. And they had to hike fast so as to get things ready before we arrived at the camp site. They are a hardworking and happy group. There is always music and laughter when they are working at the camp site. We cannot say enough good things about our guide Auriol Medina. For each day's hike, he expertly set the pace that's suitable to the group's fitness level on that day. He is well organized, communicative, personale and has a great sense of humor. Did I mention that Auriol is knowledgeable about Inca culture and traditions? He is also a botanist... We enjoyed every minute with him and hope to take on his service again in the future.

Memorable Tour with Omar Salas - best tour guide of our trip. i would 100% recommend omar, and will definitely attempt to book with him again when i come back to peru. in this review i will address 3 aspects of his excellence: knowledge, practice, service. omar has a wealth of knowledge, and is able to effortlessly inform and discuss all aspects of such in english. his vocabulary is advanced, and more worthy of recognition, his ability to discuss geopolitical concepts of any period. he is an encyclopedia when it comes to the history of peru and it’s people, and given his experience with all of trails, he is a master of the land. as mentioned above, omar is a master of his trade. he has a strong history of leading others on trails, of traveling the land on his own, and of studying in academia for the information he shares. he is so comfortable when he shares his land with you. being so well versed with his home, omar not only shares experiences with you but also his people. we visited many sites, but also stopped as smaller parts of different towns - for example to see authentic aspects of clothing production as well as traditions that continue to live on. omar took the time to interact and allow us to understand the people we passed on the streets of each town and location we visited. every place we visited, you could see omar’s respect and love for the community by the way he interacted with others. similarly, omar treated us with excellent service. i felt extremely sick - possibly from altitude, or from food borne illness, or both(!) - and omar was able to adjust the sacred valley tour to accommodate for how i was feeling as the day progressed. omar is very thoughtful and considerate. touring with omar feels like you’re touring with a true storyteller, the ones you hear about historically who serve as living libraries for all of the ancestral history. my best regards and appreciation - thank you, omar!

Best day of the trip ! - This tour was our favorite part of the entire vacation . The tour was wonderful and omar even managed to keep our teenagers entertained with his humor and storytelling skills. Omar is a wonderful guide , and an even better human being . He really went above and beyond our expectations . He gave us excellent advice on our next day trip to Machu pichu and even helped us secure train tickets and dinner reservations.
