Cusco - KM 104- Sungate - Machu Picchu

Inca Trail - The journey begins with a hotel pick-up at 4:30 am, followed by a 1 hour and 20-minute drive to KM 104, the starting point of the Inca Trail tour. Prepare for a 4-hour hike from KM 104 to Wiñaywayna, where your guide will share insights about the local flora, fauna, and Inca sites. Lunch will be served in Wiñaywayna. Afterward, a 2-hour hike will lead you to the Sungate, offering your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. Take your time to savor the view from above before embarking on a 40-minute descent to Machu Picchu. Here, you can enjoy the sunset and capture iconic photos with your loved ones. (The short Inca Trail allows you to see Machu Picchu from the lookout on the first day and explore it on the second day). You will then take a bus down to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay, dinner, and coordination for the next day’s visit to Machu Picchu.

Exploring Machu Picchu

Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu - At 5:30 am, you will be picked up from the hotel reception to catch the bus to Machu Picchu, arriving at 6:00 am to witness the sunrise. Your guide will lead you through the citadel, showcasing the best temples, sectors, and intricate details of Machu Picchu, including the Temple of the Three Windows, the Temple of the Water Mirrors, the Temple of the Condor, and the Stone Quarry. Our guides are patient, informative, and native to the region. After the tour, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, at 2:30 pm, you will board the train to Ollantaytambo station, where our driver will transport you by van back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 pm.
