This tour is unique as it is the only one available on a private wind farm.

As the first commercial wind farm in the San Gorgonio Pass, it offers insights into both the history and future of wind energy, beginning with the Wind Rush of the early 1980s up to the present day.

The tour also explores renewable energy sources, including wind, solar, and battery storage.

Located on the North side of I-10 along 20th Avenue. From the I-10, off exit 120 and continue on 20th for 1 mile, or from Palm Springs, take N. Indian Canyon over the I-10 Hwy and make a left on 20th and continue 1 mile. We are located on the right. Big signs greet you along the way.

A very fun, unique, and interesting experience! - Our golf cart tour of the Palm Springs windmills was one of the most memorable experiences and that’s largely thanks to Tom, our incredible tour guide. Tom brought everything to life with his enthusiasm, knowledge, and great personality. He didn’t just share facts — he told stories, answered all our questions (even the goofy ones!), and made the history and science of wind energy exciting for everyone in our group. If you’re visiting Palm Springs and looking for something unique, educational, and genuinely fun, this windmill tour is great Highly recommend!

Great tour! - Excellent tour with a great guide! Very informative 60 minute tour. I highly recommend it. Worth the $$$ of admission. Wasn’t too crowded and while windy t didn’t feel too cold. Great for the entire family.

Excellent learning tour - Bill was extremely knowledgeable. We learned a great deal about wind turbines that we never knew before, and got to realize how large these structures really are. The history of wind power in the valley was fascinating.

A Whirlwind of FUN - We chose the in person tour guide in a golf cart and it was the right choice! So nice to have a live person taking you around rather than downloading an app and looking at your phone... This fun event is less than two hours total and is packed full of info and is a very unique experience - and we are locals! We had Peter as our guide and he was so friendly, fun and capable. I would highly recommend this to anyone and, it's very affordable!

A Truly Educational Experience! - Booked this tour for myself and 2 friends. Very interesting and informative. Guide Tom made the tour very enjoyable. The history of wind farming in Palm Springs was surprising. I would recommend this for anyone, young and old, who is interested in sustainable energy and Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley.

Fascinating personalized/up close tour of the windmills! Well worth the time and money! - Fascinating tour of the windmills! Our guide was knowledgeable, fun and happy to answer our many questions! The movie we watched prior to the golf cart tour gave us a wonderful insight into the history and current facts about wind power in the area. Well worth the cost of the tour!

The personal human touch Guided golf cart tours. - Many people may have seen windmills while driving on freeways, but many do not know how these electricity generators work. When you allocate just one hour and do the Palm Springs Windmill Guided Tour by Golf Cart, you and your family will learn pretty much all the facts about windmills. For me it was very convenient, educational, fun and exciting to take this tour. After spending two nights at a resort in nearby Desert Hot Springs, I stopped by this place on my way to Downtown Palm Springs. The one hour Guided Golf cart tour of the windmills was well worth every second and every penny spent. Bill, my tour guide, was very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable. After letting me watch a short video about the windmill basics in the office, Bill escorted me outside. I got on a golf cart and went on a drive under the giant windmills. In a very short time I learned everything about the Windmills. Self-driving tours are also offered. But I recommend the personal human touch Guided golf cart tours.
