Triple Crown Experience - What a great tour! We visited Claiborne Farm, James E. Pepper Distillery and 1922 House Vineyard. Abe and his son were terrific from booking the tour and on the day throughout the tour. Nice transportation and lots of information! Highly recommended and a great range of experiences!

Will use again! - Very professional and punctual. Very knowledgeable of the tour and the sites we drove past. My wife and I are extremely happy that we had this experience as we would have never thought of all the things we got to do and see. We toured 2 horse farms and one bourbon distillery. Horse & Barrel Tours are 5 Stars - My college buddies & I wanted to do something fun & unique to celebrate over 33 years of friendship together. I called up Abe & let him know that we were looking to do something more private & personalized. So no party bus with a bunch of random strangers. Abe had his son pick us up from our hotel in downtown Lexington. The vehicle was clean, comfortable & his som Collin was friendly & knowledgeable. He drove us to their offices & private speakeasy called “The Hub”. They had hot/fresh breakfast sandwiches & coffee ready for us when we arrived. They also did a quick bourbon tasting with ys before we departed for the 1st of 4 distillery stops that day. Stop 1 was Castle & Key (walked the grounds, had a flight of their spirits & visited their gift shop. No tour due to covid). Stop 2 was Woodford Reserve (visited gift shop & had cocktails. No tour due to Covid). We had a nice lunch at the Elkhorn Tavern. Then Stop 3 was James E Pepper (had a full tour of their distillery, tasting of all their bourbons & visited their gift shop). Stop 4 topped the day off . We hit Bluegrass Distillery, but we did a tasting & tour with their head distiller instead of the usual generic guide. To top it off, we got to fill our own bottle of bourbon from the barrel, cap & seal it, label the bottle & sign/date it. Such a great & personalized experience. Probably not something that most of the distilleries would let you do. We were dropped back off at our hotel after a wonderful day. My friends & I would definitely call Abe & his team to set up another tour in the future. Hopefully once covid restrictions are lifted, all of the other distilleries will be open & tours will resume. I highly, highly recommend Horse & Barrel Tours! 5 Stars!!! Thanks again Abe & Collin!!

Relax and enjoy! - We had a great experience with Abe, who was so knowledgeable about the area. It was great to sit back and let someone else do the planning and driving for the day. Horse and Barrel Tours will give you a memorable KY experience! - Abe Owen provided a private tour of 4 distilleries - Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, Four Roses, and Wild Turkey that was just about perfect. Abe is very knowledgeable about the area, the history and the distillery and horse industry in KY. He did a fantastic job of planning a great itinerary and ensuring we had the best possible experience at each location. He made our college reunion weekend a very memorable occasion- for those from KY as well as other states. I have used other tour guides in KY for out of town guests, and Horse and Barrel Tours is the absolute best. We highly recommend them!

A definite must! - What a terrific experience from start to finish! Our tour guide, Abe, provided us a wonderful day touring the Old Friends retired thoroughbred farm, Buffalo Trace Distillery, and Peppers bourbon tasting room. We were picked up from our hotel so we were able to relax and enjoy. What a treat to see the beautiful Lexington horse country as well as different parts of Lexington, such as parts of the University of Kentucky campus and the distillery district renovations. Abe is professional, personable, and ensures a top notch experience!

Full-day private bourbon tour - We travelled from Texas for a bourbon experience, and Abe took good care of us from the first phone call to the full day of tours and tastings. The whole day was so easy and comfortable! Abe listened to our wishes and guided us to memorable experiences, great tours and fun places. He has a passion for the bourbon experience and wants to share it with his clients. Our group of 4 would definitely schedule another experience with Horse and Barrel.

Fun before our meeting - Three years ago we had a fun family vacation on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail with horse and barrel tours. So much fun, that when I planned a business meeting for Louisville Kentucky I knew I wanted to repeat that experience with our business associates. Horse and Barrel Tours is based in Lexington, Kentucky but they were more than willing to lead our tour starting in Louisville, Kentucky. One of the things our group liked the most was how flexible the driver was and how eager he was to make sure everyone had a good time. Easy to give this tour 5 stars.
