Additional Information

Take a stroll among the graceful old homes of one of Brooklyn’s oldest neighborhoods… but don’t let their sedate charms fool you. Nestled within these dwellings are a wealth of gory, ghastly, haunted, and gruesome tales. See horror master H.P. Lovecraft’s former home, visit the site of a “ghost-haunted” fort, discover the “Gate to Hell” and more!

We keep group sizes small and the pace leisurely so you can get up close to the neighborhood’s haunted landmarks – the best way to experience these stories. Boroughs of the Dead has been offering Brooklyn’s best ghost tour since 2014.

Our tour guides are published writers, working artists, historians, museum curators and educators. Learn more about our approach to ghost and dark history tours at boroughsofthedead.com.

The Dead are Alive and Well Again! - I have been taking all the ghost tours virtually on zoom since Covid. They are all wonderful, same interesting information and knowledgeable tour guides.....and all free! Kudos to you all for providing a great escape from the current madness. Always nice to leave a tip though, if you can. Do yourself a favor, and give them a try, and when sanity has been restored, I sincerely look forward and hope they continue their walking tours in person. I have also been to those and I find it all fascinating. The tour guides are entertaining and very knowledgeable.

Haunted Brooklyn Heights - Such a fun tour. Creepy well told stories that helped me learn about the neighborhood. Really helps to see things up close and in person to get the vibes of a place, especially at such lovely locations. Started off slow but really picked up by the end. My only suggestion would be to do a little re-routing so it starts off faster. Maybe even reverse the whole route? But that's a quibble. Definitely recommend. - Bob
