Excellent tour! - Nicolas was my tour guide and he also owns his own local boutique tour agency. He was very knowledgeable and accompanied me every step of the way during the tour, taking the time to explain Patagonia’s history, landscape and flora/fauna. I learned alot from him! There was also a nice coffee/tea break midway through. Nicolas was very thoughtful, offering tissue/sanitizer in his car, along with bottled water. I enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend looking for Nicolas if you are looking for private, customized local Ushuaia tours.

Perfect for families with babies. - Thinking about taking tours and hiking with a 2-year-old baby can sound very complicated, however when you find the option to do it privately and with a guide as patient and attentive as Emmanuel, everything becomes much easier. She was always attentive to our needs and our baby’s needs, was very patient and made the trip amazing. In addition to the excellent guide the overall service was very good, we were provided baby chair in the car, snacks and taught to drink mate.

Alma Calma Tour of Ushuaia & National Park - My husband and I were part of a 10 person group on a tour with Nicolas from Alma Calma Tours. Nicolas is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego National Park. His timing was impeccable so that we saw all the highlights of the Park with little wait time. He even provided us with a picnic of mate tea and pastries. Julio, our driver was great about getting us close to all the areas and helping us on and off the van. I would highly recommend Nicolas if you want to experience the best of Ushuaia!

Great tour in Ushuaia - We created a private 12 person tour through Cruise Critic as we were on the Princess Sapphire, South America, Antarctica cruise. Nicholas met us right at our ship and took us on a wonderful five hour trip to the Tierra del Fuego National Park. He pointed out all the sites along the way and we saw amazing scenery. Nicholas is a registered tour guide from the national park and made sure that we went everywhere ahead of the large Princess tour buses. He is extremely knowledgeable. If you want a good experience in Ushuaia, you can’t go wrong with Nicholas of Alma Calma expeditions.

I can’t say how much we both enjoyed this tour with Nicolas. Book the trip, you will not be disappointed. - This tour was top notch. Nicolas is a very gentle soul, very much in tune with nature. Our driver, Julio, was very patient and always accommodated those who didn’t want to get out and walk. We started at the pier and had a short delay while two of the group of 12 (all of us unknown to one another, however this was a private tour that a “cruise critic” arranged) was missing. After a lot of searching for the missing couple we continued on without them. We made our way to Terra del Fuego National Park. Nicolas explained the geography of the area using maps for reference. We also had an explanation of how Ushuaia came into existence. We had several stops to get out into nature, they were all fairly flat and easy to walk. Nicolas told us about the different flora and fauna as we walked. There was a stop for a quick snack (ham and cheese empanadas) and they take credit cards or USD. We saw a lot of birds, had many beautiful vistas and took a lot of pictures! We visited the peat bogs and had a picnic at the “Post Office” at the end of the world. The picnic was lovely and set up by Nicolas and Julio while we roamed around taking pictures. On the way back to the ship we stopped at a few different points for pictures. Then we had a short drive through the town where some people opted to be let off to shop and make their own way back to the ship. Others were dropped off directly beside the gangway. It was a terrific tour. The vehicle was spacious and being sort of a mini bus we didn’t have to climb over each other like those in a multi passenger van.

Beautiful Day in Tierra del Fuego! - We had such a great day in Tierra del Fuego National Park thanks to our awesome guide, Nicolas. He arranged for us to take the train and then met us at the end of the ride. I'm so glad we used a private tour guide instead of doing it ourselves or joining a big group. He was able to take us off the beaten path, at our own pace. He showed us all the best highlights. Nicolas was fun, friendly, professional and spoke perfect English. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

Nicolas was a fantastic guide with wonderful knowledge of the environment and plants. He had great patience with my very curious sons who had lots of questions all the time. He was absolutely professional at all times and a pleasure to deal with. We had such a memorable and beautiful excursion that we will always remember.

What a delightful experience! - Such a great experience! Nicolas was very patient, respectful, and spoke great English. He was very informative on the tour. Nicolas accommodated our requests and made the tour a little more personalized to our photography needs. The coffee and pastries were a pleasant delight. Worth the extra money. We enjoyed a private tour for 2 people. Thanks again Nicolas!

Outstanding day in Tierra del Fuego with an excellent guide! - I contacted Nicholas at Alma Calma to set up a tour from our cruise. He provided all information and set everything up. I collected a group of people on cruise critic and Facebook and they all contacted him individually for the tour. We were picked upon time with a nice clean van and excellent driver at the dock. we drive to Tierra Del Fuego. he provided history on the town and information about the area and the sites. His engish was excellent and he provided interesting information and answered all questions. I indicated wwhen I set up the tour it would be nice to do a little hiking or walking, so we did two nice walks in the park, none more than maybe a half mile. Farily easy. There was one passenger who was a little slower and he made sure the person was moving along fine (the person knew there would be walking and just took it at their own pace, and it worked well for all of us). He brought a snack of Mate tea (which we had all been wanting to try) and nice pastries. The cruise ship offered a similar but shorter excursion for about double the price. All participants were very happy with the tour. I would highly recommend setting up this tour with Alma Calma.

Top Notch Guide in Ushuaia. - Our group of 14 enjoyed the excursion more because of our superb guide. Will not hesitate to recommend him. He is knowledgeable and will take the trouble to give in-depth answers, he is passionate about his role and managed the group activities very smoothly, while being flexible at the same time. Great communications skills and a most pleasant personality.
