Additional Information

For your own safety, it’s crucial to be appropriately dressed for this mountain activity. If you don’t own suitable attire, there’s the option to rent.

The starting point for this trek is conveniently located just 15 minutes away from the city. The journey begins at the edge of a peat bog, from where numerous wild trails branch off, each one increasing in difficulty.

The trail leads you across a river, further into the heart of the Fuegian forest. As you journey towards the tree line, you’ll be accompanied by lengas and guindos, progressing along a challenging 600-meter elevation climb.

The final part of the trail is on high-mountain terrain and involves a strenuous incline which ends upon reaching the Tempanos lagoon. Provided the weather is on our side and the group of hikers is in good physical shape, our trail will continue around the lagoon and up close to the Vinciguerra glacier, where we can observe its unique crevices and moulins.

Finally, we’ll retrace our steps along the same trail back towards the transfer vehicle that will return you to your hotel.

Vinciguerra Trekking - The trail to Vinciguerra is a little demanding at times, but the beauty of the place, the charm of the glacier and the feeling of intimate contact with nature make every inch worth it. The Arpon guide, Léo, was very careful, set a good pace and brought safety and lightness to the walk. A nice lunch and hot drink make all the difference when hiking for many hours and the trail equipment also helps a lot, all provided by Arpon.

100% recommended - Well organised and pleasant experience despite adverse weather (snow/melted snow) which probably made the hike significantly harder . Our guide was helpful and knowledgeable.

Amazing trekking day - I am so glad I signed up for this! It was easy to book and arrange pickup, and my guide Gisela was incredible. I definitely feel like I got much more out of the experience than if I had tried the hike alone.

Great trip, and I am over 60 - I had another tour plan with a different company, but they never showed up. My hotel put me in touch with Arpon, and we got things set up on very short notice. I'm 61 years old and in reasonably good shape, but certainly not a marathon runner. I was concerned with the length of the trip and whether or not I could make it. I rented some boots, which you absolutely 100% will want to do because it is very muddy, and there are also areas with bog, and that is occasionally wet as well. Including the guide we were a group of four, and it was a great trip. They were patient with me and made occasional stops so I could catch my breath. There were some challenging hilly areas, but nothing dangerous. You also will want climbing poles. Everyone in our group, as well as anyone we saw on the trail, was using them. Our guide was very friendly and helpful, and I'm proud to say that I made it all the way to the top and all the way back down without a problem. Keep in mind that this is is a somewhat challenging hike and is about 14 km (8.7 mile) round trip. If you're not in at least reasonably good shape, this probably isn't for you. That being said, it is not a dangerous hike, and I never felt like I was going to fall off a cliff or down a mountain. But it's not a walk in the park either. Our guide was friendly, obviously experienced, and did a great job overall. The bag lunch they provided was also excellent and plentiful. Great experience, and great things to say about Arpon.

Great tour - Leo was amazing. Very knowledgable about the area, but also history of the region + he knew all the plants. Shared lots of information, and a very positive guide as well.

Good guide, but could use some improvement - Understanding and supportive guide that did an excellent job balancing individuals' hiking skill and fitness levels. Guide's english skills needed some work; it was unclear if guide's limited discussion of the local area's flora and fauna was due to lack of knowledge or lack of english language skills. Overall, I recommend.
