Recommended, every moment!!! - Spectacular!!!! It was worth it. With a guide that gives you information at every moment. I don't touch the joy of seeing 3 whales and dolphins along the way. The super attentive crew. VERY recommendable

Penguins! - I am not particularly fond of boats and was worried that this would be boring, but this was the highlight of my trip to Ushuaia. The boat was comfortable with a nice cafe to buy food in (something I didn't think I would do, but did). We saw lots of wildlife including a whale. We pulled right up onto the beach with the penguins and we saw so many of them. It was the most delightful experience watching the penguins up so close. We could even see them swimming in the water because it was so clear. I think I could have stayed and watched the penguins for hours. Understandably, we didn't, but we were given lots of time to enjoy them. The captain of the boat was also very friendly and let people come in and steer and take pictures.

Encounter with southern nature. - What a wonderful experience. Coming from the Caribbean and having the experience of seeing sea lions, whales and 3 types of penguins!!! The trip on the catamaran was pleasant without movements. The young woman was explaining the attractions of the journey. Punctual and precise in his itinerary. For me that has a lot of value.

Very nice boat tour. - We did the 5 hour morning boat tour to isla martillo (penguin island) and back including lighthouse and nearby islands. We paid $50US per person reserving day before at their hut. It’s very scenic and despite what some have said I wasn’t disappointed with the wildlife (birds of all sorts including Magellan, gentoo and even a solitary king penguin, see pics.) While we didn’t get off the boat we pulled right up onto the beach and were 15-20 ft from the penguins which is closer than I’ve been to them on land. Very nice assortment of very reasonably priced food and bev to buy (including waiter service) or you can bring your own. About 100 people aboard but very comfortable (get there early for good seat) and the staff was friendly and bilingual guide had great info. This gets cancelled often due to water and wind conditions so plan it in the morning in your first day so you have another chance if it gets cancelled. Warning: it got pretty rough and lots of barfing on the way back so if you get seasick take Dramamine and beware.

Very good! - Very good boat trip, with excellent views of the Beagle Channel and the lighthouse and some amazing animal sightings (sei whales, sea lions, 1 seal, cormorants, terns and many penguins - Magellanic, Gentoo and 1 king penguin!, 1st March). Book direct with company via WhatsApp to save money. They were mostly good at communicating and changed the day for us at no extra cost when our flight was cancelled. We are glad we chose this instead of the 'walking with Penguins' trip as it we got almost as close (if not as close) to the penguins, we were high up on the boat so we could see them swimming, plus it was much cheaper. The only thing that let the trip down was a lack of information about wildlife spottings in the moment e.g. did not announce whales we saw, later announced whales but did not specify side of the boat so we missed them and did not explain the different types of penguin colony or point out the lone king penguin to everyone. Luckily we've done lots of boat trips so knew what to look out for!

Great views but longer than expected - The sights on this tour are amazing, particularly the penguins. The boat was large and stable but a little crowded. We took this trip as a cruise excursion and were told it was a 4 hour tour........it took almost 5 1/2 hrs, which impacted plans we had later in the day. I looked at the company web page and it indicated approx 5 hours.......be aware when you book.

An enjoyable boat trip - The boat and trip are both nice, you have a café inside to buy snacks. The tour guide inside tries really hard to give you explanations around the place with a microphone. It is just a pity that out of the more than 10 speakers in the boat, only 1 or 2 are working, making it hard from anyone not sitting right next to him to listen to what he says.

We would not have booked if we had known that…. - 5 hours of excursion for a total of almost 4 hours of actual navigation and approximately 1 hour of sightings. Given that we didn't like the feeling that it was a boat-restaurant aimed at tourists (on the catamaran there is practically a kind of sandwich shop: people drank - they sell whole bottles of wine - and ate all the time), the thing what annoyed us the most was seeing that the catamaran went all the way to the beach to see the penguins, running aground just a few meters from the penguins. If we had known, we would never have booked the tour. If they continue like this, soon there will be no more colonies (already the one we saw had very few specimens...). Furthermore, they offer private tours with covered dinghies, which even drop tourists off on the island... Generally unorganized; if you have the eticket they still tell you to queue at the ticket office (where they print the paper...: but what's the point...?), except then once you get to the catamaran they just ask you for the eticket 🥲 the nice and kind guide, a little long-winded in the explanations. The experience itself is so-so…we got off smelling like fried food, a little disappointed….

Refrain - The caramaran lost electricity at the beginning of the excursion so there was no water or lighting in the bathrooms, the bar or the audio guide did not work. The damage lasted until we had already started back. The company minimized the incident as if it were normal to pay for quality service and receive a bad one.

10 penguins very far off and aggressive camera man - Just a heads up, you will see very little penguins, and from far away. The guide explained to us after that you can see the penguins in January, and until then they will hibernate, which is why you can't see them. No worries. On the boat there is a cameraman that takes photos and then tries to sell them (the photos are of an amateur quality). He will get aggressive in asking customers to move out of the way so he can try to take photos in the viewing positions. When reminded that the customers have already paid, and it might be a better approach if the boat circled the island so that everyone can see, he will snarl that he no longer speaks English. Give this a miss unless you are there in January
