Cannot recommend this tour enough! One in a lifetime experience! - Ballena Tours took us on an incredible adventure to Corcovado National Park in May 2024. Our boat captain made the boat ride there and back as easy as possible, even stopping along the way when we saw dolphins and sea turtles in the water so we could all see. Our tour guide, Walter, was so knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic. We saw so many beautiful animals I had never need before: Tapir, Anteater, Spider Monkey, Coati, crocodile, and many more! As a wildlife photographer himself, Walter helped us take amazing pictures of the animals. Bring sunscreen and bug spray — it’s a jungle by the beach after all! I cannot recommend Ballena Tours and booking the Corcovado National Park Tour enough! If you’re in Uvita, you have to do it!

Corcovado Day Tour - I did this tour yesterday and it was amazing! Leo, the guide, really knew his way around and went out of his way to show us as many animals and plants as possible. Not only was I amazed by his profound knowledge of wildlife and plants but also by the fact that he really seems to love what he is doing and didn't only learn all that by heart to just repeat it over and over again. And as a gardener I especially enjoyed the more scientific side of how trees and plants survive here. And on top of that the crew on the boat made me feel safe and welcome. Thank you for this wonderful day!

Well organized day tour. - We took a boat for around 1.20 hours to the Corcovado National Park. Once we got there, we took different paths through the national park. We were able to see a few animals. However, I would ultimately recommend staying overnight because then you have more time and can see more animals. Time is limited on a day tour. Our guide was super nice and gave us good information. The meal prepared by the crew before the boat ride back was also very tasty.

Amazing Don't-Miss Natural Experience! - We had several excellent tour guides. We saw more animals/birds than anywhere on earth. The tour was a CR highlight! The experience started on the walk to the boat with bats, iguanas, and birds. Then the boat ride was about 1-1/4 hr, and two tours were about 3 hours total. Wear comfortable hiking shoes that can get wet and muddy. We did >26k steps. Lunch was delicious. Don't miss this iconic Costa Rican place.

Average tour with too large a group - The guide, Walter was very knowledgeable, but did not seem to spend enough time looking for wildlife. The time spent in the park was too short and the group size was much too large. And there too many other groups in the park. The lunch was very good and we had an unfortunate day of seeing very little wildlife. Also, the website should give clear instructions of what to bring, such as both water shoes and hiking shoes, reuseable water bottles (no plastic allowed), and extra water of your own beyond what they supply. Fortunately I had asked in advance and was prepared, but many were not. The beach was beautiful, but beware, the sand is burning hot so have water shoes and close toed hiking shoes, and a towel to get the sand off your feet!

Ok but not the best value - Breakfast , welcome and briefing good. Be aware boarding will get you wet! Nice boat ride, unlucky not to see any dolphins or whales. Amount of wildlife seen on tour not so much. Having just done Manuel Antonio at a fraction of the price, that would be my choice for your and then just pay for a boat ride if you want one.

Mediocre experience at best - We had high hopes for this tour to Corcovado from Uvita, and chose this company based on a recommendation from the dive company we used in Uvita. The communication before the tour was fantastic. No complaints there. The check in process was easy and the person at the front desk seemed knowledgeable and organized. He also spoke English very well. They had a basic, but satisfactory breakfast with biscuits, bars, fruit, juice, and coffee available which was appreciated with the 6:30am check in time. However, things quickly then went downhill. First off, the guide we were actually assigned spoke minimal English and was very difficult to understand. Second, the group size was way too large in my opinion. 17 people with only the one guide. The guide offered only basic and limited information about the park, the animals, etc. He brought his binoculars and stand, however there were so many people that those towards the back barely got to see anything before the animal/bird moved on. Minimal attention was paid to the group as a whole. At one point, our son actually fell and split open his head and was bleeding... guide didn't even notice, nor did he appear to have any first aid materials with him. We did the best we could with a wet wipe. All in all, the tour was a waste of time and money. We've been to Corcovado before with another company and had an absolutely lovely time with a guide and small group (4 - 6 people). Unfortunately, this company fell way short of the mark.

Unjustifiable price for what you actually d - Not worth the price - at all. A beautiful national park but this specific tour only takes you on a very small trail (maybe 2km) by the beach and back. We were expecting more hiking in distance (supposedly 2 trails but we only did 1 then left), and deeper into the forest to explore the richness of park, but this was disappointing on all aspects. The guide was friendly but definitely not a wildlife expert so we only saw a few animals. We had a much better animal seeing experience in the Manual Antonio park with an actual wildlife expert who was able to show us many animals that we wouldn't have been able to see ourselves using the scope. Disappointing to say the least. The day before we went snorkeling in the Isla del Caño (that is the same distance) for half of the price of the Corcovado Tour, and it was actually fantastic. I wouldn't recommend the Corcovado Tour, but rather going to Isla del Cano. We had a good time overall, but I wish I could known all this before booking and I definitely wouldn't have, not worth the price at all.

Forget San Pedrillo in Corcovado - The tour is really extensive for what you can see... The guide was too young and had not enough experience. Normally we had to go to la Sirena but the day before , it has been cancelled, a shame. Moreover the guide was running to go back under 35 degrees
