A meaningful experience full of history - Vicente is such an amazing guide. His vast knowledge of Mayan history was such a gift. My daughter (16) and I (mom) felt so taken care of by Vicente and Alejandro the driver. They always made sure we had snacks and water, and even provided us with a chilled cloth for our faces after touring Uxmal in sweltering heat. The private tour allows you to go at your own desired pace. Uxmal was an amazing site and allows you to be up close and personal with the ruins. Choco Story is a bit of a museum feel with an animal sanctuary added. The chocolate ceremony and tasting was very nice. Lunch was also delicious at a nearby restaurant. We cannot thank Vicente and Alex enough for our incredible day trip! So worth every penny!

A highly recommended tour to Uxmal & the chocolate site - Our guide Vincente and driver Abby were excellent. We were picked up on time and driven to each place safely. Vincente had good knowledge of Uxmal which we had almost to ourselves and is the most beautiful site in S Mexico! We enjoyed the chocolate experience and it was amazing to see jaguars in the rescue centre though how they got there was very tragic.

Great private tour with a very knowledgable guide - If you are looking for a tour with an English speaking and extremely knowledgeable guide this is it! We were a party of four and booked this private tour with a very safe and friendly driver named Bennie and a super knowledgeable guide named Javier. We were able to arrange to be picked up at our Airbnb on time. We arrived at Izmal in the morning when the weather was cooler and before all the big tour buses arrived. Javier provided us with a wealth of information regarding Mayan history as we walked thru the ruins. The lunch was ample with a choice of a Yucatan entree, dessert and a beverage of your choice. The Chocolate Story museum was interesting. I enjoyed the animal sanctuary the most which is part of the museum. You could get a tour around the Centro area for less money, BUT DON’T DO IT. We did book one for Chicken Itzá a few days before but they were very disorganized. The pickup location was changed and we were not contacted. Another passenger waiting had to tell us about the change around four blocks away. The tour was supposed to be in English which was a total surprise to the guide! He had to walk over to us on the bus to tell us in a nutshell what we passed by half an hour ago. We arrived around 2pm at Chichén Itza which was by then 103 degrees. Do yourself a favor and find out when you will arrive at the ruins. It’s like night and day when you arrive in the cool morning vs in over 100 degree’s afternoon.

Amazing, informative tour - Carlos was our very well informed guide for this expedition. We were picked up on time and our tour went very smoothly. We enjoyed the extra drinks and snacks as well as the sit down lunch provided. We loved the beauty of the architecture, learning about the site, and about its people. We loved that there were no crowds and we could climb a bit. I would like to return when more of the site is excavated and would love to be matched with Carlos as our tour guide again.

Excellent way to spend a day - We had a great tour of Uxmal with the extremely knowledgeable Vicente. Loved walking around the site and learning from him - he knows all the details large and small. Alex was an excellent driver as well. We had a nice lunch at a nearby restaurant. The Choco Story museum was fun - a lot of surprises there.

Well worth it and above expectations. - Tour Guide, Raul: knowledgeable, pleasant respectful, easy going, he took care of us and I never felt I needed to ask for anything he had it all covered and was happy to answer all our questions. Driver Benito: quiet with charm also respectful and what a touch of this tour to provide cold peppermint towels after the Uxmal tour for me this was an ultra perk. the Tour of Uxmal: absolutely brilliant, Raul also allowed us to go and explore wasn't given a time limit and explore it completely you might be even more pleasantly surprised by what this place has to offer. the lunch: was decent enough, a choice out of two for starter, main and dessert, nice place and pleasant service. the chocolate story: another place that had more than I was expecting, I won't add much but this was a great ending to the tour. Be sure to have a breakfast since some may find this to be a long day, for us we were more than happy that for what we paid we got what we did, seriously it's worth it in my opinion. it's not a con for me, but the tour did change the pick up time to half hour later for us it wasn't any problem, in fact was much better for us since we were able to get a breakfast and coffee in, not to mention it was more 24 hours in advance notice.

Uxmal - A not to miss adventure with Vincente! - The tour of Uxmal was so eye opening. It wasn’t too crowded and was a great history lesson of the Mayan culture. Our delightful guide was Vincente, who prepared us for our adventure with photos and explained the history of Uxmal while we were driving. Vincente gave us a thorough and enjoyable tour of both Uxmal (amazing!!) and the Choco Story. He spoke English clearly, was knowledgeable and communicated well. Alex drove our van, was very pleasant, and was a very safe driver.

Don't miss Uxmal and the chance for an amazing history lesson - This was a great experience, and I'm glad we did this through a private tour at our own pace. Vincente was excellent, he really brought the history of Uxmal to life through the myths and history that he shared - and answered every one of my nine-year-old's questions with such patience. He's clearly passionate about sharing the history and culture (both now and in the past) of the Maya people. I've been to three ruins so far (and my husband another two) and Uxmal is by far my favorite. It's not overrun by crowds and vendors, you really get a great sense of the place from the past that I didn't get at Coba or Chichen Itza. Vincente put the ruins into context and did far more than just talk about the buildings themselves. I don't know if they are always there, but in June there are tons of iguanas which fascinated the seven-year-old. The restaurant was a real treat, local foods with a variety of courses and choices. Delicious. Chocostory was a contrast. I wanted to do something with chocolate on our trip. I had imagined that it might be an actual place where they were fermenting the chocolates. It wasn't that - but it was also more experiential than many of the chocolate places I've been. Some others are just pictures and some artifacts - honestly, a documentary is better. This was more experiential - both because of the animal sanctuary, the grounds, the Maya ceremony, and the chocolate drink tasting. I agree with Vincente - a ladle with 3 scoops of sugar and a pinch of habanero was perfect. The driver (I'm very sorry, his name escapes me) was great and very helpful anticipating rain, hunger, and thirst. We felt very safe every minute of the trip.

Great tour-can do without the choco-tour - Carlos was a fantastic tour guide, very knowledgeable. We appreciated this. The chocolate-tour isn’t anything special. You have to read all the posters and towards the end you get a sip of hot chocolate. Total time was 7hrs
