We’ll start off by taking a visit to the iconic Train Cemetery in Uyuni. This is the perfect place to capture some timeless photos!
Colchani - Next, we will explore artisan salt factories as they process local salt and bring it to your table. Colchani is great for shopping; ponchos, souvenirs made of salt, and various llama and alpaca-related items can all be purchased there.
Salar de Uyuni - Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat, is a mesmerizing landscape that captivates visitors with its otherworldly beauty. Stretching across vast expanses, it alternates between a reflective mirror during the rainy season and a geometric salt mosaic in the dry season
Isla Incahuasi - NOTE: IN THE RAINY SEASON THERE IS NO SAFE WAY TO REACH INCACHUASI ISLAND OR TUNUPA VOLCANO, WE ONLY VISIT THE SAFE AREA WITH INCREDIBLE REFLECTION VISTAS.
Finally, we’ll embark on an hour-long trek that takes us to the most beautiful island of the Salar: Incachuasi. Here, you will be able to marvel at giant cacti, petrified corals, and get some incredible views that span 360 degrees. Afterward, prepare yourself for an unforgettable picnic lunch right in the middle of the Salar, a perfect way to become intimately acquainted with this destination away from the hustle and bustle of crowds. Before heading back home, don’t forget to take some fun perspective shots with your camera and explore the intricate salt crystals and eyes scattered about!
Sunset in the best spot!
We return to your hotel and take the dinner in a Salt Hotel.
Sunset Salt Flats or Tunupa Volcano Epedition
Salar de Uyuni - Designed for those seeking relaxation, this day invites you to unwind and indulge in the hotel’s luxuries, including the pool, spa, and more.
- Start your day with a hotel breakfast.
- Enjoy leisure time exploring the hotel’s amenities.
- Savor lunch at the hotel, included in your stay.
- Around 4 or 5 PM, embark on an adventure to find the perfect spot for stunning rain-season reflections or a secluded place for perspective-rich photography, away from the crowds.
Sunset and a celebratory toast and snacks.
Return to the hotel for dinner
Tunupa Volcano - Visit the mummies of Coqueza. In excellent condition, these mummies are of unknown origin and are enigma throughout the region! (If you are in search of adventure, you have an alternative to visiting the viewpoints of the Rainbow Tunupa Volcano, a 3-hour walk round trip).
Rock Valley, Lagunas Altiplanicas, Siloli Desert
Laguna Hedionda - Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! we’ll discover incredible Valley of Rocks, surrounded by stunning landscapes and populated with animals such as vicuñas, llamas and Andean rabbits. In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Lagunas de los Andes, four different lagoons full of flamingos, offering views of volcanoes like you’ve never seen before.
There are a bunch of differents Lagoons (like 6 different ones) we’ll try to visit at least 3. Everything depends on the itinerary you want. Some people preffer a relax one and go faster to the hotel, other customers want to visit the classic route of 4 different Lagoons in the area.
Siloli Desert - Next up is Siloli, an endless expanse of red sand and remarkable formations such as the Stone Tree. This creation was carved by wind and rain over thousands of years.
Laguna Colorada, Geysers, Hot-springs, Dali Desert, Laguna Verde, Uyuni
Laguna Colorada - Get ready to experience the wonders of South America!
Kick off your day post-breakfast with a visit to the iconic Stone Tree, just a 40-minute journey away. Next, marvel at the majestic Laguna Colorada, a contender for the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. We’ll choose one of the two main viewpoints, weather permitting, offering breathtaking scenes that blend wildlife with otherworldly landscapes.
Geiser Sol de la Manana - Experience the surreal beauty of the geysers, akin to stepping onto the surface of Mars, where we’ll capture incredible photos, guaranteed.
Aguas Termales de Polques - Next, unwind with a dip in the Polques hot springs, a cozy retreat surrounded by views of volcanoes, flamingos, llamas, vicuñas, and a white lagoon. The plunge is well worth it, even with the chilly exit.
Salvador Dali Desert - We’ll then explore the renowned Dali Desert, where infinite vistas and color-splashed volcanoes stretch around us.
Laguna Verde - Optionally, cap off the journey with a visit to the stunning Green Lagoon and Licancabur Volcano, perched on the Bolivia-Chile border. The views are breathtaking, though note that during the rainy season, the vibrant hues may be muted. If you’re heading to Chile via San Pedro de Atacama next, consider this your perfect stop; we can arrange a transfer from here, saving you hours of travel and budget.
We return to Uyuni after a local picnic lunch arriving around 5 to 7pm.
