Highlights
  • Oak Alley Plantation - The Oak Alley plantation tour is one of the most magnificent plantation tours near New Orleans because of the 28 evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from River Road to the Plantation House. NOLA Excursion to Plantation & Airboat Ride - Our driver was great he gave us great information about the city, our excursion & was very funny! The plantation was magical with the trees and grounds so well kept. The gift shop & food at the restaurant was great! The mansion was incredible & our tour guide had great stories about the history of the families that had all lived on the grounds. The airboat ride was fun & we got to feed the alligators, was super cool!

Small airboat and Oak Alley - Great tour. Driver Brett was great. He got us through New Orleans with ease. He was very patient with the crazy traffic. Once at the dock the airboat captain took us back into small inlets. Along the way Brett gave great information about the activities and areas we were driving through. The tour at Oak Alley was good. We had enough time for the house tour and explore on our own.

Airboat in Nola - Our airboat ride was a lot of fun with John as our guide. He made every effort to provide an entertaining ride and get us up close to alligators.

Great educational experience. - The beauty of this plantation is bar none, exquisite. The live oaks are the real show. Stunning landscaping. This is mostly an educational experience of slavery and sugar cane. All three go hand in hand, you cannot have one without the other two. The guides do a wonderful job of explaining all three with honesty. It was a brutal way to exist. My children learning that the stunning beauty before them, was built by the horrible ugliness in the fields. Its important to remember the good, the bad and the ugly of life during these times so we never repeat them.

Fun day trip - Great fun filled day. The plantation house is beautiful and quite the sight to see. The airboat ride was fun, not overly fast and not scary at all. Loves seeing all the gators that come right to the boats for marshmallows!

Great tour with some mishaps - Overall this tour was great! Plantation was absolutely beautiful and we saw many alligators on our airboat tour. However, the driver was running a little behind in the beginning and it seemed rushed. We also broke down on the side of the road on our way to the airboat part and had to sit out in the 86 degree heat and sun for about an hour while they were trying to get us to the airboat destination. Our airboat tour time was cut a little shorter but it was long enough to enjoy. They apologized but it would have been nice to try to make it right.
