N'Awlins Whitney Plantation Tour - Our group of 7 visited the Whitney Plantation with N'Awlins Tours. If you visit only one plantation - this is an excellent choice. The story at this plantation comes from the perspective of the enslaved. There is an excellent audio guide - that is very easy to use - with a terrific guided tour that you can follow at your own pace. It is mostly outdoors and each of the 14 stops has a place to sit while you listen to the narration. The tour passes Twelve Oaks and we were able to view the quarter mile drive lined with massive oak trees at that plantation. Our guide and driver from NOLA was DeeAnn (I think I remember correctly) and she gave us lots of information on the one hour drive to the plantation. A great tour!!!

A nice half day trip with some interesting history - We had a great excursion! Tour guide (Dionn) was very polite, a courteous driver, and was knowledgeable about the city with a good sense of humor. Pick up and drop off were timely. Of the 3 plantations we saw, Oak Alley seemed the nicest to us (but we didn’t get to tour the other two.). This is a nice half day trip to get you out of the hustle and bustle of NO, and as well to appreciate the history of the area.

Great transportation - Took the tour to Laura Plantation. Picked us at our hotel on time. Nicely narrated drive out to the plantation, with background on the others nearby. A nice stress free way to get out of New Orleans and out to the plantations. They service all of them.

Informative tour - This tour was informative and generally well done. It went into some more detail than other similarly themed tours. Things to know: the plantation takes over an hour to get to, which is why the overall tour is over 5 hours. No lunch is provided - you have to buy chips at the gift shop or wait to get back to the City. You can see the inside of some but not all buildings. While the driver gives some history on the way in, the plantation tour itself is a self-guided audio tour, with interpreters available for questions. You will likely spend over an hour outdoors, so dress appropriately.

Provided transportation was exactly that. Transportation. - Let's be honest, N'awlins Luxury provided the transportation. Then dropped us off at the plantation. Then picked us up and returned us. So really, this review is only about that. Pick up time was as stated and efficient. Only six of us total on the shuttle. Two passengers got off at Oak Alley, and the rest of us headed to Laura. Originally, we had booked a tour of the Whitney Plantation, using the "Real Time availability" booking on N'awlins Luxury's website. Day before our tour, we received a phone call that Whitney was to be closed the day of our visit. This was disappointing, because surely Whitney didn't call them the day before. Remember, we had use the real time availability feature, and so this shouldn't have come as a surprise to them, booking five days out. Dropped off at the Laura almost 40 minutes before the tour started. There is a museum to help fill the time but... The transportation there and back was fine. Might have, in hindsight, rented a car and done two plantation visits (to a Creole one and an American one) to compare and contrast. Separate review for the Laura.

Not guided as listed - The information was great (that's why we are giving at least a 3 star) but we booked this tour because it said it was a guided tour when in fact it was a SELF guided tour with audio. That was disappointing as we have booked many other guided tours in the past with viator and they have been amazing experiences. Wish it was guided it would have enhanced our experience.
