Oak Alley Plantation and Swamp Boat Tour - A fun and informative day from start to finish. Our driver was Dwayne (excellent driver) and our guide was Kate. She was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. She furnished us with lots of history facts but also lots of fun facts. Oak Alley plantation was very interesting and their tour guides were also excellent. Slavery is a sad, terrible part of our history but tours like this help us to remember and hopefully learn from our mistakes. The swamp tour was great fun. Unfortunately I can't remember the boat captains name but he was great entertaining and very informative.

Excellent tour and tour guides - I loved the tour and tour guides. It was an all day experience that was well worth it. I am from Louisiana, but learned some new things through my tour guides especially from our swamp tour guide Captain Ernie!

Fun but lots of time in bus - Fun out of the City excursion. I would not recommend the plantation for kids but they would enjoy the swamp tour. Expect about 2 hours total of transportation to these events.

Good experience. - It was a good experience. Prompt transportation, clean and inviting. The intercom wasn't working very well, so it was hard to hear the driver. Sitting closer to the front is better if you want to hear. Definitely recommend the pontoon boat over the air boat. In the air boat you have to sit the whole time. It's too noisy to have a guide talk. And you're just as close to the water either way.

The swamp tour was brilliant! - We really enjoyed the swamp tour, captain Ernie was very knowledgeable and passionate about the alligators and the swampland. There was plenty of space on the boat for everyone to get a good look at the gators - and we saw lots of them! We found Oak Alley Plantation a little lacking, the tour of the big house although interesting didn’t tell us enough about the experiences of the enslaved. There were signs with some information to read for yourself outside. The video about how to grow and harvest the sugar cane was interesting but only spoke of how this happens in current times. We’d have liked to learn more about the experiences of the workers in the past. The plantation visit was a little rushed, we’d have liked more time to stay and contemplate.

Okay but not spectacular - It was good but not great. The tour of the big house with Wes wasn’t that impressive. We only learned about the family and the house, not much about the plantation or the atrocities that occurred there. We come late to the slave presentation with Steven which was great and we learned a lot in a fun way with him! I wish we could have stayed for the entire presentation but our bus left at 2:30. The store was nice the pralines and drinks were great
