Additional Information

Just an hour’s drive from Valencia, embark on a picturesque adventure in Montanejos. Set off on a guided hike, take in views of the surrounding landscapes, see the mighty Chorro, and enjoy the natural pools (“Fuentes de los Baños”).

Begin your day with a morning hike (9km, may be reduced during high heat season) through the mountains and make your way along the Mijares River, enjoying views of the town and the majestic river. The path eventually leads to the Chorro, a powerful water jet that unleashes 4000 liters of water per minute, a mesmerizing spectacle.

Take a dip in the thermal pools (Fuentes de los Baños), said to have been built by Moorish king Abu Zeit to ensure the beauty of his queens. Maintaining a temperature of 23°C throughout the year (so it may seem cooler in summer), they’re known for their mineral-rich composition, both relaxing and good for your health.

  • Be aware that the total duration of the excursion includes the transportation time from and back to Valencia.

The BEST tour you can take from Valencia! - Thanks to Nouha and Nico, we had a fabulous trip. Their knowledge of the history and the area made the already breathtaking journey through Montanejos that much better. If you're worried about hiking in the heat, don't be, it was so manageable - the refreshing spray from the Chorro and the dip in the Fuentes de los Baños is a well deserved reward.

To do!! - Excellent day!! Landscape and view at the top, walk by underwoods that allows to have a correct temperature in the middle of August (walk reduced to 6 km by the temperatures but sufficient). Swimming at the end of the day to top it off!!

A perfect combo of Adventure and Relaxation with an excellent guide - The Montanejos Natural Paradise Tour exceeded all my expectations. It was a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and information. The hiking portion of the tour was great. The trails were well-maintained and offered a variety of landscapes, from dense forests to panoramic viewpoints, with our guide Nico (who was excellent) pointing out interesting landmarks and sharing local legends along the way. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of Montanejos.

Stunning hike, too many people. - The area and the hike was beautiful, but we found the group was too large. There was no interesting information presented about the area, and it seemed like the main guide just wanted to get the hike part done as quickly as possible. We’re two experienced hikers and found the pace was way too fast, we didn’t feel we could take our time and enjoy the views or even stop to take pictures along the way. I can’t imagine how the more casual hikers felt. The area is breathtaking, and in a group of 8-10 max, it would have been spectacular. The locals also seem quite irritated by a large 50+ group of people hiking, a smaller imprint would have better. The pools were amazing, and we enjoyed the plunge after the hike. I wish there was an option for a smaller, slower group, because this tour has the potential to be an easy five stars and the highlight to any trip. I’d suggest the operators provide an option for a smaller group, even at a higher $$, I would have jumped on that in a heartbeat. Also make sure you bring plenty of food, enough water, sunscreen, a hat and hiking shoes. The description of this on Viator didn’t explain the hike enough, and the photos only showed the easier hikes. You won’t be able to stash belongings in the bus during your hike, so bring what you’d be OK with carrying. Overall potential for a fabulous day trip but missed the mark on execution.
