Additional Information

Having spent over a decade in restaurant jobs, I chose to transition and apply my profuse knowledge of wines in a more innovative manner. My journey commenced in February 2021, when I moved away from my birthplace, Amsterdam, to conduct wine tasting sessions in Valencia.

My professional growth has been nurtured in some of Europe’s finest Michelin star eateries. In addition to practical experience, I’ve gained qualifications from the top Dutch wine course, “Vinologen” and from globally renowned wine studies program: WSET4, at its highest level.

You may wonder what makes a wine tasting session with me unique. It’s the unique blend of my charisma, expertise at giving people a memorable event, a distinct location providing an assured warm ambiance, and above all, my extensive reservoir of wine wisdom. You’ll seldom come across a question about wine that I can’t address.

Cozy and educational - Nice wine tasting where it became clear that Trisan knows a lot about wine and would also like to transfer this knowledge. The snacks were also a good addition. Possibly these would have come into their own even more if they were brought in combination with the wine. Highly recommended!

An unforgettable wine tasting with Sommelier Tristan in Valencia! - During my recent visit to Valencia I had the pleasure to participate in a wine tasting organized by Sommelier Tristan. What a fantastic experience! Tristan, with his extensive knowledge and passion for wine, made the evening both educational and entertaining. We tasted five exquisite Spanish wines, accompanied by delicious tapas and petit fours. The ambiance was perfect and Tristan's explanation of the different wines and their provenance was captivating. An absolute must for anyone visiting Valencia!

Good first experience - Our first wine tasting was a positive experience. We sampled a variety of red and white wines, each with thorough explanations that helped us distinguish their qualities. However, parking is very limited and busy, so it's advisable to arrive early. You might need to search for parking further away to avoid risk getting a ticket. Despite these challenges, the wine tasting itself was enjoyable and offered a great opportunity to socialise with others.

Overall good experience - This was our first wine tasting, and we found it to be a positive experience. There was a variety of red and white wines, each well explained, allowing us to distinguish differences in quality. Be aware that parking is very limited and busy, so arriving early is advisable. You may need to drive around to find parking far away and risk getting a parking ticket. Despite this, the actual wine tasting was enjoyable and provided a great opportunity to socialise with others.

Beautiful, knowledgeable wine tasting in a prime location. - A warm welcome on a rooftop in Vakencia by Sommelier Tristan. A friend gave me a wine tasting gift in the center of Valencia. Tristan organized a wine tasting of about 6 Spanish wines. Various tasty snacks were served during the tasting. Tristan's explanation was clear and knowledgeable. The choice of wines was perfect. We lingered on the roof terrace for a while and enjoyed a bottle of wine with very nice people who were also present at the tasting. In my opinion, highly recommended

Unfortunately not on the roof terrace - Our expectation for the wine tasting was that it would take place on the roof terrace. Unfortunately that was not the case, which made it feel less special. The wines, explanation and tapas were fine, but the special feature of a view over the city made it an ordinary wine tasting, which in our view was also slightly overpriced.

Expensive and lacking details - For my part, the sommelier, the presentation of the wine tasting and the place were great, but I don't see the way of presenting it as correct; They welcome you with a glass of cava, very good, but from my point of view the glass is not the correct one to drink cava (this glass is then mixed on the table with the other wine glasses because they are the same) Us during the tasting We tried 5 different wines, 3 white and 2 red, very good but on the table there were only 2 glasses per taster, they did not change them between wines, if you had any wine left from the previous one and you did not empty it, they would mix it for you . The menu lasted two hours and in that time we tried two canapés (one per person); one was a small cheese volovan with cranberry and the other a slice of bread with pâté. At the end they gave us a board with fuet, cheese and olives, for the 7 people who were at the table. We found it expensive, it is not what it seems and we think that there are details that can be improved. The wines were very good.

Disappointing, cash grab - As a wine lover, looked forward to this experience only to be disappointed. The event was way overbooked with about 35 people on this tiny terrace. The actual occupancy should’ve been max 10-15 people. Everyone was sardined in and couldn’t move nor hear the explanation. Speaking of sardines, the “high-end petit fours” were sardine paste on white bread and a whipped gorgonzola thingie with fig, along with plain white bread. All of which were served late in the tasting and were of questionable taste level. All in all, the wine selection was fine, the host provided some information although it was hard to hear with all the people there and hard to get closer as there was no space. Quite bad, wouldn’t recommend, go to any bar instead.
