Explore the ‘Sistine Chapel’ of Valencia, a breathtaking church situated in the heart of the city. Recently restored, this magnificent site has only recently become accessible to the public, despite being one of Valencia’s oldest churches.
Established over 700 years ago, it originally served as a Gothic temple and underwent transformations over the centuries, resulting in the remarkable facade seen today. By the end of the 17th century, the interior walls were completely transformed and adorned with exquisite paintings, fully enveloped in an opulent Baroque style that captivates visitors from around the globe. Thanks to the Fundación Hortensia Herrero patrons, more than 2000m2 of these remarkable paintings have been restored. San Nicolas is open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the day, and the ticket includes an audio guide, which conveniently provides insights into the church’s history.
Visitors are welcome until one hour before closing time.
As a special exception, on December 15th, the church will be open from 1 PM to 6 PM.
