Explore the ‘Sistine Chapel’ of Valencia, a breathtaking church situated in the heart of the city. Recently restored, this magnificent site has only just opened to the public, despite being one of Valencia’s oldest churches.
Established over 700 years ago, it originally served as a Gothic temple and underwent transformations over the centuries to achieve its remarkable facade. By the end of the 17th century, the interior walls were completely transformed and adorned with exquisite paintings, fully enveloped in an opulent Baroque style that captivates visitors from around the globe. Thanks to the efforts of the Fundación Hortensia Herrero patrons, over 2000m2 of these remarkable paintings have been meticulously restored. San Nicolas welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the day, with tickets including an audio guide that conveniently provides insights into the church’s history.
Visitors are welcome until one hour before closing time.
