Fabulous Friday in Requena - We had an excellent tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide- Paulius. He answered every question we had and all three of us felt that we learned so very much from the trip. The old town of Util-Réquena was really nice and steeped in history. The tour of the Bodega was well presented and we enjoyed going underneath the streets to see where the wine was previously stored. The wine tasting was very good and in a beautiful location. We would all thoroughly recommend this fantastic experience.

Part of our honeymoon in Spain - We had a really unexpected start to this trip, when we were waiting with our guide Paulius for coffee at a cafe near the first winery stop…my husband’s chair collapsed under him when he tried to move out of the sun, and he cut the back of his head on the corner of the table! It was bleeding & looked like a few stitches were needed.
Paulius was great—so helpful!! He immediately drove us to the nearby hospital ER, helping us translate. He said that, in his 10+ years of doing the wine tours, this was a first for him, but he handled everything like a pro.
Thankfully, it wasn’t a serious cut, although my husband did get 4 staples…unexpected souvenir! We’d missed the first tour but he felt well enough to stop and see the caves there, which were fascinating! And he felt OK to do the 2nd half of the daylong tour. Paulius was great, always checking in to see how he was doing, and even though the day didn’t start like we planned, what we did get to experience of the tour was wonderful! And Paulius truly knows his stuff! (Gracias de nuevo por todo!!)

Great wine tour with mini group - Paulius is a wonderful guide. He is a driver, tour guide and sommelier all in one and has a great deal of specialist knowledge, both about the history and the region, as well as about every single wine we were allowed to drink. We were a mini group of 4 people, which was fantastic and very personal. It was a lot of fun and very entertaining and funny. The two wineries we visited were very different and an excellent choice. We were able to visit an underground cave system in Requena and had a wine tasting in Utiel under shady trees with a fantastic view. The food in a typical Spanish restaurant was also excellent. We were the only foreign guests here. This tour may be more expensive than other offers, but it is definitely worth it. Highly recommended!

Great day out wine tasting in the countryside - Really enjoyed the tour as we got to see some real wineries in the countryside rather than staying in the city. Not to mention the wine tasting was all top quality wine, our guide Paulie was very knowledgeable about the region and the wine! We not only got to see some interesting underground caves of wine cellars in the hilltop town Requena. We also got to see a huge vineyard with many acres of land, belonging to a wine making family for many generations. The trip ends with big bang in an authentic local restaurant. The food was mamamia!!

Very informative and mindful of dietary requirements - We had a great day with Paulius. The schedule was run smoothly and at a good pace, and he was a good and safe driver, too. I learnt a lot today: I now know there is a lot more to Spanish wine than the Riojas! He was very mindful of my vegan dietary requirements, and the lunch he arranged for me at a village restaurant was fantastic. I would highly recommend this.

Good variation wine tour - We had a very nice tour. The combination with tasting / looking in the caves on the first adress, and the visit of Bodega Vera de Estenas after that, was a good combination. Lunch at Rest.Gerano we found very special because of the many locals eating there.

Requena, essential on the wine route. - A visit to their wineries to buy wines, many of them difficult to find since they are exported and of extraordinary quality, is essential, as is a visit to the old part called Villa. In it we have two museums dedicated to wine, one of the Casa del Cid is essential, fabulous and another of the grape harvest festival. It is also essential to visit the town's caves with underground cellars with huge jars. Also interesting is the Silk House and the contemporary art museum. Requena certainly pleasantly surprised us and we were looking forward to experiencing the grape harvest fair at the end of August because they must be unique.

Amazing day of wine and culture - We had a fantastic day with our super knowledgeable host Paulius, who took us to some superb places for 2 great tastings and a downright incredible lunch in a place that you’d never ever find without insider knowledge. At the pickup we found out it was just us as no others had booked the tour that day, and at first we felt that was a bit of a shame, but it was actually great. Paulius is first class company and we learned so much about local history and local grapes and wines. The day just flew by! If you are a wine lover, I very much recommend this tour.

An Amazing Wine Tour - We booked through AMBIA Tours. Paul was our guide. My daughter and I were the only ones on the tour. Paul did state he likes to keep the groups small but would accommodate larger groups. We drove an hour out from Valencia to the quaint town of Requena. After a quick tour of the town, we went to the wine museum and the winery. We had a wine tasting of four wines and a cava in a private room. Paul possesses an indepth knowledge about the wine and the wine region we were in
Next, he took us to a wine estate that was absolutely beautiful. We toured the winery where Paul again discussed the different grapes and the type of wine made at the estate. Afterward, we had a wine tasting with Paul and the charming Wine Master. We sat outside and tasted wines with a view of the beautiful countryside.
The wines were delicious Valencia wines. Paul is a wonderful tour guide. My daughter and I had an amazing time.
Paul mentioned that the company also offers other tours.
I highly recommend Ambia Tours if you are visiting the Valencia area
