A unique experience. - A real treasure. This place steeped in history is absolutely magnificent and immerses us in the fascinating heritage passed down through the ages. The tour provides a better understanding of the nuns’ lives and their dedication, while discovering captivating stories about this extraordinary time and way of life. A huge thank you to Raquel and Manwel for their warm welcome, passion and great knowledge that make the experience even more enriching. A special mention to Mimi, an extraordinary representative, who added a unique touch to this visit. (Who is Mimi? You have to come to find out) Also very useful is the installation of a free application, which gives access to all information in several languages (free Wi-Fi). I recommend to discover another facet of Malta, imbued with spirituality and cultural richness.

I was really glad I went, a real highlight. - A very interesting living museum. Basically a peek inside a closed order of nuns and a fascinating insight into the lives of the women that lived there. A beautiful and peaceful enclosed garden at the centre. The building itself left as it was but with a very well put together free audio guide downloadable to a phone. I was really glad I went, a real highlight.

mystic experience - The Mysterium Fidei Museum offers a haunting yet captivating glimpse into the secluded lives of monastic nuns. Walking through the underground chambers beneath St. Catherine’s Monastery in Valletta feels like stepping back in time. The audio tour brings the history of the Knights of St. John to life, guiding you through rooms steeped in prayer, work, and ultimate solitude. The eerie yet serene “sleep of death” room leaves a lasting impression. It’s an unforgettable experience that truly embodies the “mystery of faith.” Highly recommended for history and culture enthusiasts!

A Hidden Gem - This is one of those tourist attractions that not many people know about and we only discovered by chance when walking past one day. My recommendation would be to go to St John's Co-Cathedral fist and then come here. The difference between the opulence and wealth of the Cathedral versus the austerity and piety of the nunnery is striking and yet both sets of devotees are attempting to observe the same thing. It’s quite an eye-opener. It's very peaceful and tranquil as befits a place of this nature.

An affordable must visit if your in Malta🇲🇹 - The true defenition of a hidden gem💎! This monastery is beautiful, the garden, the architecture, the scenery together with the information provided at each step of the tour, they take you back in time⌚. The lady that showed us around was really kind and very informative she went out of her way to make the experience that much greater✨. Minnie the cat that lives at the monastery made us feel really welcome by giving us cuddles throughout the tour🐱. The tour is at a very reasonable price good for family at 8 euro per person! If you're in Malta, visiting this place is a must🇲🇹!

An oasis of peace and tranquility in Valletta's city centre - This attraction from Hidden Valletta should be on the 'must visit' list for anyone visiting Malta. It is a beautiful experience. The renovated monastery and secret garden opened last year and is located down a very unassuming side street just off the main Republic Street. Keep walking through the main square and head down hill and its well marked. The monastery is still home to nuns (who live on site) but the ground floor takes you through a well marked experience of what life was like in the monastery. As you follow the rooms in the centre of the experience is an oasis of peace, calm and tranquility (the Secret Garden). Also on hand from the door is the feline resident of the monastery who will help guide you through the experience. Hidden Valletta's methodical and creative approach to their attractions should be applauded and I would encourage any tour guides/companies to ensure their attractions are included in the itineraries for any tourists. Upliftingly magical!

A place of calm - This is a small site which is the gardens, utility rooms and crypt for the monastery of the nuns of St Katherine. It's a beautiful oasis in the centre of Valletta and worth a short visit. The history is fascinating.
