Additional Information

Malta’s magnificent beauty largely stems from the influence of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, or as they’re commonly referred to, the Knights of Malta, who resided in Malta for nearly 300 years. Valletta, the capital city of Malta, was established by the Frenchman, Jean de Vallette, following the significant siege of 1565. As described by Sir Walter Scott, Valletta is ‘a magnificent city that resembles a dream’, that juts vertically from the seafront. It holds a strategic presence over the island’s historic Grand Harbour - considered to be one of Europe’s most superior natural ports. The city, built according to a grid layout, is a microcosm of the island itself and is filled with abundant history, an assortment of architectural styles, a variety of arts, and a rich culture. You don’t have to worry about missing any significant sights in Valletta, as your private tour guide will ensure you cover everything worth visiting.

3 hours of information regarding Valetta & Malta spanning so many years - This was the perfect way to find out about the history of Malta & Valetta. Great guide who was very knowledgable. We had a wheelchair bound member to our party and the route was thoughtfully created so that she too could easily enjoy the experience. Yes we could have done with having a comfort break at some stage and yes it would have been nice to hear more regarding the more recent history of Malta. But time was at a premium and there is only so much that can be fitted into three hours!

Great walking - We booked this tour privately rather than take a tour offered by our ship and were not disappointed. Marissa was a great guide, very knowledgeable and engaging. Our group had some specific requests which she accommodated. It was extremely hot that day and Marissa made every effort to keep us comfortable and out of the sun where possible. Would recommend this guide and company for others.

Marissa with City Walking Tours... -
Marissa with City Walking Tours Malta was fabulous. We were on a cruise and she met us at the port and we were fortunate to have only 6 of us on the tour. She was great in maneuvering us through the crowds and finding shady spots to talk about the sights. She catered to our needs as one of us was looking to buy a Maltese cross, she took us into a jewellery store and showed us what it looked like, another wanted to get a rosary blessed so she advised where and when this could be done. It was so sweet when she ran into her 2 children while we were touring. Well worth it and highly recommend this tour versus a more expensive one off the cruise ship.
