Established by the Order of St John as a primary place for their worship, the co-cathedral is renowned for its elegant floor, believed to be ‘the finest in the world’, containing over 400 intricate marble tomb plates, each representing the illustrious knight who resides beneath.
This exploration will uncover the narratives concealed within the cathedral’s structure. You will get acquainted with the Order’s Grand Masters and discover the hidden symbols of their tombs; decipher the cryptic messages left behind by knights from another era on their tombs; and uncover the tale of the lone woman reputed to be interred in the cathedral.

Tours With A Difference - I have been anxiously waiting for a tour provider that not just focuses on the history this island and its sites have to offer but also the other details you don't get on a traditional tour. The Secrets of the St. John's Co Cathedral was an amazing tour we did with Mario and while I (thought) I knew so much of the history of this place, Mario had so much more to tell, including some very interesting facts about former and influential Grand Masters. I highly recommend any tour Mario offers. He has great knowledge on the history of Malta and also on the more 'darker' stories from our vast history, which specifically make these tours that more interesting. The tours seem to be frequent so visitors all year round to Malta will surely find something he has on offer.

Only way to tour this co-cathedral⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - The co-cathedral came recommended by everyone as a must see, and it (and this tour) did not disappoint. It’s one of the more ornate and beautiful cathedrals I’ve seen, but as this tour name implies, there is some history that I don’t imagine is at the forefront of the audio tour through the direct booking. Mario is as knowledgeable as he is funny and made this experience a real pleasure. Aside from all of the benefits of being guided by a person that seems to truly enjoy his time with you there, you get to skip the very long individual lines by going with this group — reason enough to pay even more than what this tour is charging. Do it!

Super Mario strikes again. Brilliant tour! Must do! - Prepare yourselves for another thrilling adventure with our guide, super Mario! After already experiencing some other dark tours hosted by our guide Mario, we knew we were in for a treat, and were positively buzzing with anticipation. And boy, did he deliver! unveiling hidden treasures of information and untold tales, filled with laughter and lighthearted moments. Highly recommended!

Great stories - really worth it - Really great tour of the cathedral in Valletta. It’s an amazing building and Mario’s expertise and storytelling really brought it to life. And you get to skip the individual ticket buyer’s queue, which was very long when we went in late August! Highly recommended. Really added to our experience of Valletta and Malta as a whole.
