Great job Juan! - What a great day we spent with Juan. He was on time at the port, his vehicle was able to hold all our luggage after coming off a 2 week cruise. Juan showed us the sights of Valparaiso (very colorful) and Viña del Mar as well as a lovely stop for a winery tour and tasting before dropping us at our downtown Santiago hotel. Perfect all the way around.

Did not get tour was suppose to and the car was horrible to ride in because it was so dirty. - Our tour was suppose to be Valparaiso, Vina Del Mar and the winery. Our guide did not take us to Vina Del Mar he chose to go to Santiago. We were disappointed. His car was filthy inside. That was kind of upsetting. Didn’t really tell us much about where we were. I know the ship was late docking (we had no control) but he cut our tour short.

Solid tour - Our guide Luis was excellent at communicating prior to our tour so that we were able to quickly meet after disembarking our ship. He was personable full of lots of details about Valparaiso especially during the walking tour we did of the gentrified area of restaurants that had a significant number of graffiti murals. We had requested to do this and spent about n hour on this. Luis was so full of info on this area we really learned a lot. Because we had just come off of 14 days on ship and had 2 couples in our group we asked him to cut short the walking tour so we could move on to the winery for lunch. We also needed to be in Santiago by 330 so this cut our day somewhat short due to our schedule not his. The winery was outstanding. Pure delight and great food and wine. We unfortunately were too late/too early for the actual English tour which would have been nice to do. Luis worked very hard to adjust his schedule to our needs which we appreciated. The only frustration we experienced was that while he spoke English well it was heavily accented and required a lot of concentration all the time which combined with our vacation exhaustion probably reduced us from appreciating him as much as he deserved. Pros- excellent knowledge and reliability Cons-can be pretty intense after a long cruise however as a way to spend an extra day instead of at the airport waiting it can’t be beat. I would do the trip again with Luis. I’d just be a little more up front about our needs.

Very reliable - Very reliable & lovely to deal with. Even though our arrival was delayed by 5 hours, the driver waited for us. He then made time for a shorter but interesting tour & drop off to our hotel. We really appreciated that he waited so long for us & still provided a tour.

Less than expected . - The trip was more of a taxi ride. We were picked up after 9 and done at 2pm. This was not a full day tour. The guide dead new and not knowledgeable about where we were going.

Do not recommend outsourced - This is not a professional tour co. We waited well over an hour. No signs looking for us, 2 guys in sweat suits showed up. We are lucky they didn’t kidnap us. We drive up to 3-4 “things to see” our driver had never given a tour before. 7-8 hour tour was really a ride to the airport and a stop a vineyard, pretty sure they do the tasting for free. Totaling 4 hours. Do not recommend

Bus breaks down - The most memorable part was that our van broke down 5 minutes after the tour started. We were forced to join a group tour that was also late and due to all of that, the tour that was supposed to start at 9:00 am, started at 11:30 am. People on the group tour needed to be at the airport in Santiago by 5:30 so all of our stops were short and the wine tour was only a quick tasting and then back on the bus. While our guide did a good job finding an alternative for us, we didn't get the value we expected.

Very Tardy Driver - We got an email telling us where we would be picked up and to wait 10 minutes for our guide. If he didn’t appear, we were supposed to call a number that was provided. The day before the tour, we received 4 emails from the company to contact them through WhatsApp. We didn’t have that app, and we were offline because we were on a cruise. I emailed them with that information. On the tour day, we waited about 20 minutes before I called the number they provided. However, all I got was a recorded message in Spanish which I didn’t understand. I tried to call 2-3 times , hoping unsuccessfully to get a live person. At 45 minutes, a couple of other tour guides offered to help. One even texted the number. Being in a new country, and not speaking the language put us at a disadvantage.. At this point, we were exploring other options to get us to our hotel which was about 45 minutes away. Our guide finally showed up an HOUR late without any concern for his tardiness….not very professional. That was the first time that we have had any problems using Viator.

Disappointed. - This tour was the worst. Here is the jest of it. There were 4 of us. Guide informed us he would be an hour late. He then sent a replacement. They came in two small cars to follow each other. The replacement did not know what tour we had. We just roamed around Valparaiso for hours looking at the harbor. Took us to restuarant for lunch. He did not know where our vineyard tour and wine tasting was to happen. We prepaid, did not get any of our prepaid activities. This was bad from beginning to end. He took a picture of group and said it was proof for payment. Oh, and he smelled of marijuana.
