For the price this is an A+ tour - Jeff was a fantastic guide for American's visiting Valparaiso. He is from America, speaks fluent English and Spanish, knows a great deal about Valparaiso history, and has a genuine passion for the local culture. Jeff gave a thorough tour of where wanted to go and was very flexible. He was able to accommodate my mother who doesn't walk well at 65. He recommended a Thai restaurant for dinner that was fantastic. My only wish was that they gave us our guides number or email from the beginning to coordinate and communicate with. We were running a few minutes late and I texted the number provided alerting them and never heard back - it was concerning not knowing if our guide would be there when we were 15 minutes late.

We had a mix up as to where to meet... -
We had a mix up as to where to meet with the guide. We followed the print out information, but he waited at the hotel. It took us over half and hour to connect. He gave us a shortened version of a walking tour. We wish that the information about the walking tour would have given us more information about the many steps and steeper inclines. One of our group of 8 had difficulty climbing stairs and inclines. The tour was good and he took us to many beautiful graffiti drawings on buildings overlooking the Valparaiso harbor.

The tour didn't start off too well... -
The tour didn't start off too well. The Guide turned up late because she was waiting at a different location to the one we were advised of.
She was very pleasant and knew all the history of Valparaiso. The trolley bus ride was unexpectedly short, only a few blocks. The Funicular was one of the old ones and took us up to the old part of town where the walking section started. This part of the tour came close to our hotel and our guide suggested that we might like to forego the last Funicular ride down to save coming back up the nearby steps. We agreed to this as we felt she was keen to go because she had something else on. This last Funicular was the oldest one in Valparaiso so we went down and back up on our own for the experience.
We had covered most of the tour section prior to the tour just by wandering around on our own. The tour however did give us the history to go along with what we were seeing.
