The tour sets off towards Ponte Vecchio, also known as the Ponte degli Alpini, a historic emblem of the city. This bridge has been of significant economic and military importance, often destroyed by wars and the Brenta River floods, yet always reconstructed, whether in stone or wood.
The journey continues with a gentle ascent, where participants can admire ancient buildings, remnants of the old city walls, the Ezzelini Castle, Palazzo Pretorio, and Piazza Garibaldi, which is dominated by the Civic Tower overseeing the entire historic center. Additionally, Palazzo Sturm is a highlight, showcasing magnificent collections dedicated to local ceramic production, renowned for the fineness of its mixture, the richness of its decoration, and the brilliance of its glaze.
A must-see stop includes a visit to a historic distillery, where participants will learn about the history of Italy’s most famous spirit: grappa.
