Highlights
  • Van Dyks Bay - Shark Zone’s transport service will personally collect you from where you’re staying in Cape Town, or you must make your own way if you have selected the self-drive option , and slowly make your way to the meeting point in Gansbaai.

Upon arrival in Gansbaai, you will be served a delectable breakfast whilst you listen to the all-important safety briefing. After eating, you will be taken on a short walk to the Kleinbaai Harbour, just 3 minutes away, to board the boat.

Once the boat has anchored, the crew will immediately begin to chum the water with products such as tuna and fish out to attract the Great Whites. When the first shark has been sighted, kit up, slip into the cage and get ready to be captivated, and experience the magnificence of these animals up close and personal. For those who aren’t into cage diving, the sharks can also be viewed from the boat, and this is often just a good, or even a better viewpoint.

You will also be treated to drinks and snacks on board to keep the hunger pangs away and allow you to focus your full attention of the Great Whites.

You will then return to harbour and the meeting place and enjoy a light lunch whilst watching the DVD of the day.

Shark Alley is a channel of water between two islands: Dyer Island and Geyser Rock. As Dyer Island is home to 50 000 Cape Fur seals, it provides ample hunting opportunities for the apex predator.

This is a bucket list experience for you to go eye to eye with the worlds greatest predator.

With the Dyer Island Group nearby, and home to 50 000 cape fur seals, it is the world’s capital for Great White sharks. Boasting the largest population of these majestic creatures year-round, shark cage diving and shark viewing trips are a must!

Great - I liked the experience and the company very much. They were always in touch prior to the trip answering all kinds of questions. The trip was nice, the crew great, videographer with a great sense of humor took videos that we got. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast and lunch we were offered. Well organized. The company is definitely recommended. As for experience I would like to have some more :) It was quite quick for me and not enough to enjoy to the fullest. May be will try again one day.

Excellent tour with up-close views of sharks - I recently went on the shark cage diving tour in the beginning of Feb and had a very good experience with the whole trip. I was picked up within the time frame as communicated (get whatsapp as it is the best communication tour while in South Africa for foreigners), we were provided breakfast and lunch, the crew was very well organized and gave very detailed explanations of everything and the boat and cage launch were very smooth. It is a great learning experience too as you get to learn more details regarding how sharks play a role in the marine life and how they're misunderstood creatures. Highly recommend this tour!

Well organized. - I really enjoyed my shark diving trip this morning. The company picked me up right on time and was very efficient is picking up the other passengers in Cape Town. When we arrived in Gansbaai, they checked everyone in, handed out wetsuits, and served breakfast. The boat was nice and they had stairs that rolled up to the boat which is a nice touch for folks that don’t do a lot of boating. We entered the cages in groups of five (there were ten on the boat), and there were about 6-7 sharks (wow!) that had a good time with us. Lunch was served and showers were provided when we returned to land. They shared a video of the day and drove us back to Cape Town by about 3pm. Fun experience!
