Colin Spratt, a renowned large tree enthusiast, leads you through Stanley Park’s remaining ancient woodlands. Over the course of approximately two hours, explore Canada’s biggest maple tree, millennium-old cedar trees, and gigantic firs. Additionally, delve into the park’s past and the historical narratives of the original Coast Salish tribes that resided in the space. The tour takes us down various park trails where we encounter some of the most magnificent surviving titans. Some of these titans are concealed unless you’re acquainted with their locations. Using historic maps, century-old postcards, and imagery from the Vancouver archives, we trace the background of the ancient forest and its urban surroundings.
