SUPER great experience - Yesterday, Saturday 13th July my husband and I were able to go on a Dark Secrets of Stanley Park tour with Cole, our guide. It was EXCELLENT! Even though we have lived in Port Moody for over 40 years and have visited Stanley Park many times, We learned lots of pieces of information, history, cultural etc. that we had not previously known. Cole arrived early, and politely went around people who were waiting near the aquarium statue finding out and checking off people in his group,. The pace of the tour was right for the range of people who attended and throughout the tour Cole was professional polite and used a slight touch of humour. It was obvious he knew a lot of relevant information which he provided in appropriate amounts while at the same time answering questions and taking comments. The time seemed to fly by with Cole. He made sure he was respectful of other park users and carefully guided his group around often making sure that there was shade for people to stand under while listening to his comments. It was a great afternoon for us, and we would highly recommend Cole and this walking tour.

Fantastic dark secrets of Stanley park tour by Aislynn - I would give this more stars if I could. I have done a few tours in my week in Vancouver but this was the best. It was led by Aislynn (pron Ashlynn) who learnt she was of indigenous heritage in her 20s as her great grandmother covered this up to save her children being taken or forced into residential schools (like internment camps). This lived experience resonated with the dark secrets of Stanley park. Aislynn showed the dark secrets of polar bear enclosures and gravestones being used to build the sea wall and incorporated the indigenous history of the area, including the battles and sacrifice of 200 warriors at dead man’s island and the dark history of how 90% of local indigenous people were wiped out by the spread of small pox following first contact with white people, followed by the displacement of the local indigenous tribes from Stanley park, and then gov assimilation programs designed to erase culture and language of indigenous peoples. Unnervingly similar to Australian history with decimation by small pox, displacement, stolen generations, cultural genocide and racism. This was an enlightening history sensitively and dramatically told. Aislynn also made everyone feel included. She chatted to people between stops and happily answered questions. It was a lovely walk through the park too. I would recommend doing this if you can.

Storyteller makes history come alive - Glenn is an exceptional storyteller who enjoys sharing stories about Stanley Park and Vancouver in this tour. He is friendly and professional, and is eager to interact with his group. I was enraptured by his stories of the park, the native people who originally lived there, and updates about the park since the 1800s.

Fantastic tour, unforgettable ! . - Fantastic tour! Rob Teska, our guide and storyteller was fantastic. Tall, he walked a little fast for us in the first stretch, but then adjusted the pace for the oldies. He told us all sorts of incredible documented stories. Two hours walk, you must have good mobility.

Incredible stories of Vancouver's past - I took this tour in August of 2021, but that date was not available in the Date selector on Trip Advisor. This is a "must do" for visitors and locals. The information is remarkably interesting. I learned so much about the formation of Vancouver and Stanley Park that I would never have sourced on my own. The guide was fantastic and had a wonderful sense of humour. He made many maps and images to show us visually about the stories from the past. It was a wonderful day, which added immensely to the enjoyment of the walk.
