Wonderful Experience - Lucky with weather and sightings… whales even managed to breach as well as waving pectoral fins at us!! Bald eagles and seals made the day.

Fantastic sights, fantastic guides - This might have been our favorite adventure in Vancouver. We saw two pods of orcas and even got relatively close (but a safe and responsible distance away), which was exciting. We also saw two different humpbacks, and that was amazing. Obviously, we felt lucky for all we saw, and we also felt fortunate that we booked with Prince of Whales. Their boat is pretty big. They tell you it seats 200 people, but they only book 95 guests, which gives you plenty of room to move around, stay comfortable, and see everything, no matter which side of the boat it's on. The guides were fantastic. Sebastian (I think) took time to speak with each group, and he answered a ton of questions. The guides aren't just kids on a boat; they are really well educated and exceptional communicators.

10/10 - Such an amazing trip! Definitely recommend! Staff are so knowledgeable and Friendly. We saw orcas, a white whale, seals, and a few birds! Although it is not guaranteed, the staff work hard to show you as much as they can! A big thank you to the captains and naturalists (Sebastian, Miranda, and Amanda) for making this trip unforgettable!!

Humpback whales and a pretty sunset - We had so much fun on this tour! The later afternoon weather was ideal for July. The captain (Jonathon) and crew (Steven, Roisin, Amanda, and Miranda) were so welcoming and entertaining. We had a great viewing of some humpback whales, and the crew did a great job of coordinating our position and making sure we got the best viewing - all while answering all of our questions! We were mostly on the deck with Roisin, who gave us a bunch of information and background on the wildlife we saw while on tour. The sunset and scenery were honestly worth it alone! We went up into Lion's Bay and by Lighthouse Park as the tour was ending and the sun was setting. - Definitely be prepared for a bit of a splash zone on the edges of the deck and with Dramamine in case it's a bit choppy and you're sensitive to it.

AMAZING TRIP & AMAZING CREW! - Our party of four cruised with Prince of Whales on the afternoon trip on July 21. What an amazing excursion! Captain Jonathan started out by telling us briefly about their business goals. One was to allow their guests to see and experience the trip through their eyes, not through their phone screens or cameras. For this reason, First Mate Stephen, would be responsible for capturing our amazing 4-hour tour on his high-end camera, and the best part was that all photos taken by Stephen would be provided electronically to each registered email address for that trip….FREE OF CHARGE! We were also encouraged to share the photos and stories with friends, family and potentially the entire internet! WOW! We’ve been on many whale watching trips before and never has any company offered their photos for zero cost or via email. It has always been a $29.95 thumb drive. This was amazing! Now, onto the Naturalists. We had brief interactions with Miranda or Amanda only due to where we were sitting on the boat, but Roisin, from Dublin, was an absolute wealth of information as she shared details on Humpbacks along with specifics on the three we watched for a couple of hours; Orcas, Eagles, Harbour Seals, Cranes, birds, etc. Roisin was a ROCK STAR, as was everyone on the boat. We loved the thought that Stephen, Miranda, Amanda & Roisin were students (or graduates) of Marine Biology-related/Ecology, etc. degrees. A friend asked Roisin about a whale she spotted in Juneau, Alaska, just a few days prior. Not only did Roisin know about this whale, but she showed us video on her phone of this whale slapping the water many times during their “meeting”. Captain Jonathan was 100% right. The crew has a GREAT passion for marine life and everything it encompasses. Thanks for making the end of our vacation such a memorable one! Dave, Michelle, Deb & Sue (Michigan)

Excellent - Excellent service and very knowledgable staff. And incredibly we saw 3 species of whale ! In all over 12. We were lucky but these people know what they’re doing. Very respectful of the animals. Plenty of room on the boat to get great views without jostling.

Nice boat, nice crew, nice experience, quite expensive - The trip is nice - we didn't have the best weather, but the crew was great, we saw several pods of orcas, a brief cameo from a humpback. My rating is based on value for money - this was very expensive for a family of four.

Don’t book 3rd party - Do not book through Trip Advisor. My tour got “cancelled” less than 48 hours due to a “scheduling conflict” (meaning the tour was over booked). I didn’t actually find out until the day of because we were traveling when they tried to call us. They offered the next day but it was our last full day in Vancouver. My 4 year old was very disappointed. We called around to other tours and they said Prince of Whales never cancels so the lesson here is don’t book 3rd party.
