In the afternoon, embark on a half-day temple tour of Varanasi, visiting Bharat Mata (Mother India) Mandir, Durga, Tulsi Manas, Sankat Mochan Temple, and the new Vishwanath Temple. Conclude the day with the Ganga Aarti at Dasaswamedh Ghat and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Varanasi

Sarnath - After breakfast, take a half-day city tour of Sarnath, located 10 km from Varanasi. This is where Buddha delivered his first sermon in the Deer Park. The site boasts impressive remains and a modern temple. Notable structures include the Dharmarajika, Chaukhandi, and Dhamek stupas. Explore the remnants of a monastery and the beautifully polished Lion Capital of Ashoka. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Varanasi – Bodhgaya

Mahabodhi Temple - In the morning, head to Bodhgaya, approximately 247 km away, a 6-7 hour drive. Bodhgaya is where Gautama Buddha achieved supreme Enlightenment. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Attend the evening prayer at the Mahabodhi Temple, then return to the hotel for a restful night.

Great Buddha Statue - Bodhgaya is one of the four most significant Buddhist pilgrimage sites. After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of this beautiful area. Discover the richness of Buddhist culture and lifestyle. Visit the Great Buddha Statue, Niranjana River, and Sujata Temple. Explore the Maha Bodhi Temple and Bodhi Tree, as well as the Chinese Temple. Visit the school for the destitute. After the tour, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Bodh Gaya - Rajgir

Rajgir - After breakfast, travel to Rajgir, a 70 km, 2-hour drive. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Rajgir, once the capital of the Magadha kingdom, is a pilgrimage site for Jains and Hindus. The Japanese Buddhists have constructed the impressive Vishwashanti Stupa on Ratnagiri Hill, accessible by chairlift. The stupa features statues of Buddha at four stages of his life: birth, enlightenment, teaching, and death. From the hilltop, view the Jain shrines scattered across 26 distant hills. Griddhakuta, on Ratnagiri Hill, is another site where Buddha preached. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Patna- Vaishali - Kushinagar

Parinirvana Stupa - In the morning, proceed to Kushinagar (approximately 256 km, a 7-hour drive), stopping at Vaishali, where Buddha announced his approaching Mahaparinirvana. Continue to Kushinagar, where Lord Buddha left the world, contributing the great religion of Buddhism to humanity. Upon arrival in Kushinagar, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple (where Buddha took his last breath) and Rambhar Stupa (Buddha’s cremation site). Overnight stay at the Kushinagar hotel.

Kushinagar – Lumbini

Lumbini Monastic Site - After breakfast, drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha (180 km, a 5-hour drive). Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Mayadevi Temple, the birthplace of Buddha. This serene and naturally beautiful place aligns perfectly with the perception of where the legend was born. Overnight stay at the Lumbini hotel.

Jetavana - After breakfast, travel to Sravasti, where Buddha delivered most of his sermons and performed many miracles, including levitation.
