Sarnath - After lunch, visit Sarnath, a small village about 13 kilometers northeast of Varanasi, a sacred city. It is here that Lord Buddha delivered his First Sermon at Deer Park (Rishipattana). Explore other attractions in Sarnath, including the Buddha Temple, Chaukhandi Stupa, Mulagandh Kuti Vihara, and the Archaeological Museum, which showcases findings from the Archaeological Survey of India’s excavations at the Sarnath site. Also, visit the Dhamekha Stupa, Sarnath’s most magnificent and impressive structure. The Dhamekh Stupa stands 43.6 meters tall and has a circumference of 28 meters at its base, constructed mainly of stone and brick.
Enjoy the evening religious ceremony at the Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. This temple was built in collaboration with the AIK World Buddhist Culture Organization Japan and the Sri Lanka Buddhist Centre.
Return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay in Varanasi.
Varanasi To Bodhgaya (250 KM/ 6 Hours).
Varanasi - At sunrise, embark on a spiritual boat ride on the holy river Ganges before breakfast. Discover Varanasi’s various Ghats, including the Manikarnika Ghat and the World’s Largest Cremation Ground. At Manikarnika Ghat, there is a pond believed to have been created by Lord Vishnu for Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti to bathe. Additionally, visit Harishchandra Ghat, Tulsi Ghat, and Assi Ghat. Each Ghat has its own unique history and significance.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel.
Bodh Gaya - Travel to Bodhgaya and check in at the hotel. Explore Bodhgaya’s attractions, such as the Mahabodhi Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Buddha, and the Bodhi Tree, considered the oldest continuously recorded tree in the world and the site of his enlightenment. The Mahabodhi Temple is India’s most renowned Buddhist pilgrimage site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Bodhgaya.
Bodhgaya To Rajgir (70 Km/ 2 Hours).
Dungeshwari Cave Temples - After breakfast, visit Mahakala Caves and Dungeshwari Cave Temples. Lord Buddha spent years here in penance before attaining enlightenment at Bodhgaya. Afterwards, visit the Sujata Village Temple.
Gautam Buddha broke his 7-year fast here by eating kheer (milk and rice pudding) after renouncing material life to seek enlightenment. After consuming the kheer, Gautama Buddha realized that moderation is key to enlightenment and continued his journey to Bodh Gaya, where he achieved enlightenment. A small temple was built here to commemorate this historical event.
Rajgir - Later, drive to Rajgir and check in at the hotel. Rajgir, the former capital of the Magadha Empire, is a significant religious site for Buddhists. On Ratnagiri Hill, the grand Vishwa Shanti Stupa was built by Japanese Buddhists. The stupa features Buddha statues representing his life stages—birth, enlightenment, teaching, and death. Lord Buddha also preached at Griddhakuta (Vulture Peak). Visit Bimbisara Prison and Venuvanam as well.

Rajgir – Nalanda – Vaishali- Patna (250 KM/7 Hours).
Nalanda - After breakfast, depart early for Nalanda to explore the Nalanda University Archaeological Complex. For 800 uninterrupted years, it was a center for systematic knowledge transmission. After exploring the ruins, visit the Chinese Pagoda known as XuanZang Memorial Hall.
Vaishali - Then, drive to Vaishali to visit the site of Lord Buddha’s last sermon. Explore Vaishali’s famous landmarks, including the Ashokan Pillar and Ananda Stupa. The Ananda Stupa, built in honor of Ananda, Lord Buddha’s most renowned disciple, is believed to house his mortal remains. Ananda is said to have entered samadhi near the Ananda Stupa. Also, take time to see Abhishek Pushkaran, Buddha Stupas, Kutagar Shala Vihara, and more.
Patna - Finally, drive to Patna airport or railway station to catch a flight or train to your next destination.
