Triveni sangam visit on 27/3/2019 - We took a car from Varanasi to proceed to Sangam. The ride was about three hours to the banks of the river. From there we took a private boat and reached the platform where the poojas are performed. From that platform we took bath in Sangam. Since this is begining of summer, the water level was low and so we could take bath convenient;ly. Though it is little less than a month after the Kumbha mela the place is kept clean and tidy.

Shraddh of my father. - Surprisingly streets and roads are very clean and wide. Reached ghat near hanuman temple around 8.00am. Weather was great. I did my mundan near the ghat at the back drop of fort took a drip and boarded a wide boat with guide, brahmin and all of 11 family members including my ma of 77 yrs and nephew of 03 yrs old. We had bought bird fed on the shore but same is available on selling boats. We were surrounded by hundreds of sea gulls and they were literally eating from our hands. It is about 45 mints of ride to triveni Sangam travelling on river Yamuna. Arrangement for shraddh is very unique. The boat is dragged by stationary boats and tied along. This becomes a readymade platform for everyone to move around. The material required, flowers, etc are readily available on stationary boats. The ceremony is conducted very correctly with right dedication. The holy dip which appears to be dangerous and unnerving for non swimmers like me is in fact very safe with submerged wooden plank under the feet ropes all around to support and hold with plenty of people to help us. There is also a life guard at standby. My 77 yrs old mother with bilateral knee replacement could also take dip at triveni. One can easily identify Ganga water as milky in colour and Yamuna water crystal clear. One can collect Ganga water directly. The ride back was also pleasant. Boat man was very helpful in identifying right docking place and helping every one to get down. Whole trip was about 03 and half hours. One has to be careful in bargaining for every work including puja as we had undertaken independent endevour instead of taking Bharat Sevashram's help. Overall great experience.
