Perfect trip - It was really an exceptional experience. Our hotel had a view on the Ganges . But without our guide we would have had only half of this experience. He offered us an insight in the local habits and religion but also gave his own opinion which we appreciated very much and resulted in a kind of very positive discussion. The travel agency had no easy job because there was iftar and there was a day that the boats were not going out. So they did a perfect adaptation to the changed situation. But not only that, as after the trip, I asked them to help me in a few activities and I was perfectly guided. I could always call them to have any feedback and was followed from close what gives a good feeling.

Wonderful first time visit to Varanasi! - We visited Varanasi in late March 2025, and the weather was already warming up. Kunal was our guide for the two-day tour, and from the moment he met us at the airport, along with Surya Prakash, our driver, we knew we were in good hands. Surya Prakash drove us around in a comfortable, well-maintained vehicle, ensuring we were always well taken care of. Kunal was mindful of the heat and made sure we stayed hydrated, stopping for tea or lassi when needed. He took us to places that were safe and sanitary, which helped avoid any health issues.
Kunal, a local of Varanasi, is an absolute expert on the city, and it made all the difference. He knows the ins and outs of Varanasi’s rich, diverse, and ancient heritage, and his and Surya Prakash’s ability to navigate the city’s chaotic traffic was impressive. Kunal also provided excellent recommendations for sightseeing and dining, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Our two-day itinerary was personalized to our interests. Kunal made sure to accommodate everything we wanted to see, while also ensuring the pace was comfortable. My family and I were especially interested in the local bazaars, neighborhoods, markets, and silk weaving traditions. Visiting the silk weavers was an unforgettable experience. Watching them work at their looms, taking pride in their exquisite tapestries, sarees, and fabrics for kurtas, was a truly special moment. It filled me with pride, and I hope we can continue to support this craft, which is slowly fading. I highly recommend visiting the silk weavers—it was by far the highlight of our time in Varanasi. The warmth and hospitality of the weavers and their families was lovely. They were genuinely thrilled to share their art with us, and seeing both hand looms and machine looms side by side offered a stark and fascinating contrast.
We also attended the evening and morning Ganga Aarti. The morning Aarti was much more peaceful due to fewer crowds, while the evening Aarti was a spectacular event that drew a large number of visitors. Kunal gave us the option of viewing the evening Aarti from the shore or from a boat, and we chose the boat option, which provided an incredible vantage point. We also experienced the sunrise during a boat ride on the Ganga, which I would wholeheartedly recommend. The light and shadows cast on the buildings along the river, coupled with the tranquility of the early morning, made for a serene and unforgettable experience. Our boatman, Anuj, was fantastic, ensuring our safety and comfort during the ride.
On our first day, we visited Sarnath, an ancient site with a rich historical significance. Although the heat was intense, Kunal was considerate, ensuring we took breaks to avoid exhaustion. Sarnath is well-preserved, especially considering it dates back to the 3rd century BCE, and it’s definitely worth visiting.
The bazaar walk was an adventure. The narrow streets were bustling with locals, bicycles, and scooters, so navigating through them can be quite challenging. Kunal tends to walk quickly, so make sure to let him know if he needs to slow down to keep up. He was very understanding of this. We also visited the flower market, which was vibrant and fragrant, though it was packed due to a major upcoming holiday. We had to turn back midway as it became difficult to move through the crowd.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Kunal. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Varanasi. To make the most of your visit, I suggest researching the city's highlights in advance and sharing your interests with Kunal, so he can tailor the itinerary to your preferences.

Very special weekend in Varanasi with Kunal and Team - Kunal was an incredible guide for our two days in Varanasi. Leading up to our trip, Kunal was incredibly responsive and helped advise us on accommodations as well as how specifically to use our time. Kunal was incredibly reliable, communicating with us the days leading up to our trip and the morning of to ensure us he would be there to pick us up at the airport.
From a guide perspective, having been a long time resident of Varanasi - Kunal gave us so much valuable information and history about what we were seeing, and the meaning behind it. A true local, Kunal enabled us to experience so much of the city in a way that would have never been possible without him.
I highly recommend any tour with Kunal and his team and look forward to sending friends and family to experience the city with him.
Thank you Kunal for a magical weekend in Varanasi.

Wonderful Varanasi experience with Kunal, the expert! - Kunal was a wonderful guide - he knew so much history and more importantly where to efficiently focus time based on crowds and traffic patterns. He also gave space when it was appropriate and his recommendations on timing, hotels were spot on. It was clear from the officials he greeted during the aarti, the hotel personnel that he has a long-time inhabitant of Varanasi and proud of his city and heritage and is super eager to show to the world. He was always on-time (actually early) and available when we needed. Highly recommend and please follow his directions! He has your best interests in mind! I will be sending family and friends his way if they go to Varanasi.

Incredible Experience of MahaKumbh!! - Our recent trip with Experience Varanasi for our family of eight to witness the rare Mahakumbh, was a very memorable experience.
Navigating such a busy and culturally rich area with a multi-generational group (including teenagers and senior citizens) could be challenging, but Experience Varanasi handled it very well. The attention to the needs of our diverse group was invaluable.
Though we were apprehensive about the problems in walking big distances to reach sangam and taking the holy dip, the drivers - Surya Prakash ji and Sunny ji arranged it so well that we had to just walk less than 500 meters to reach the boat.
Also, a very special mention of the drivers for the immense help in skilfully navigating us through the traffic jams and barricades and dropping us to the airport before time.
Overall, the tour was a truly excellent experience. Appreciate the efforts of the Experience Varanasi team in making our Mahakumbh truly divine for our entire family!!!

Highly recommended personalised tour - Kunal is excellent at creating a personalised experience for you. He very patiently understood what we were looking to get from our visit and then helped us maximise it. Nothing was rushed. Also, he has great knowledge of the history and mythology of Kashi.

The Best Guide in Varanasi! - Kunal was extremely knowledgeable, patient and flexible. He consistently consulted us for our input and at the same time was comfortable sharing his vast knowledge of how India and Varanasi works. He is extremely well connected and uses those connections in the service of his guests. We came to Varanasi during Kumbh Mela and Kunal was able to navigate the crowds, make us feel safe, see the real India, and make us feel like we had front row seats to it all!
Kunal, importantly, is an EXCELLENT photographer and was able to leave us with memories and photos that will last a lifetime. All guides know the history of the temples and the forts. But few are able to articulate that knowledge with such a passion, deep understanding and to offer so much insight into this complex and beautiful culture in such a short period of time.

A short stay in Varanasi - This tour included a good selection of ‘must do’ Varanasi activities (except the Golden Temple) and the tour operator rearranged the tour to suit the location of my accomodation. Visiting Sarnath, the morning and evening boat rides and the bazaar tour were highlights. The guide was knowledgable and happy to answer my questions, and the tour was well paced. The visit to the ‘weavers colony’ (which I was excited about) was underwhelming and disappointing. Also, while it wasn’t an issue for me several things on the itinerary were missed - no rickshaw ride and only one ‘row boat’ ride on the river (the other was a motor boat). However I recommend this tour for those wanting to experience Varanasi in two days, especially if you are travelling solo.

Splendid Varanasi - It was a very good two day once in a lifetime experience in Varanasi, thanks to Kunal and his team. They were very meticulous in curating and appropriately customising to suit our needs, we had three generations travelling in the family. Very well organised!
