Hello everyone! I have more than 11 years of experience in Antique Restoration here in Rome. We will tour private flea markets, silent auctions, and exclusive restoration workshops! Our journey begins at the well-known St. Peter’s Square from where we will move towards Borgo Pio, the traditional hub of artisans hired by the Vatican whose work continues to this day. We will visit a lab specializing in the restoration of ceramics and paintings, rounding off the tour. Afterwards, we will be greeted by my colleagues at Ambrogi Antiquities Lab, specializing in furniture restoration. We will also visit The Auction House on Porta Cavaleggeri, where the oldest artisan, an 85-year-old who represents four generations of heritage, has been working since his childhood.
As the day progresses, we’ll explore several flea markets based on your preferences and interests. As your guide and an antique furniture restorer myself, I will provide insights into determining the age of antique items and offer some tips on ways to restore some of them.
